    Great question on
“any warning”? I’ve had 2 sensor ( transfer case) indications on my truck. Ford couldn’t find a problem. Changed out sensor instead. The truckwas not in 4 wheel drive. Simply going down the road at
    60 mph

They had to rebuild my rear diff about 6 moths ago. The driver side pinion seal went and the lube leaked out. I've heard of this happening on a variety of F150 trucks.
