Anyone hear or know about removing the driver door cylinder lock and replacing the handle panel with a (blank) passenger side panel (there’s no lock on the PS)?

I just returned from a Texas trip where I ran into a guy whose had 2-F150’s stolen and he showed me his new truck with the above modification.

F’s are super popular to steal as well as super easy to steal. Apparently one of the most popular ways to do so is to just pull that door lock out. If you look at it by pulling the handle, you can see it’s really exposed to begin with.

Granted, thieves are mostly looking for older models for parts, but newer ones are stolen for export.

Besides, does anyone use that key lock in the door anyway? Why not just get rid of it?
