You haven't read my positive posts then. I pointed out how the radio does improve after you break it in. I pointed out that despite its short comings I enjoy the truck and would buy it again. I didn't touch on the suspension and Cornering much, but I should. The ride and handling is NOTHING like a regular F150 or any other truck I've ever owned. It is in fact very smooth and is MUCH similar to an SUV. It has some body roll but you can throw it around far more than any pickup truck I've ever driven. I think ford NAILED the suspension, the handling and the 4W auto mode works superb for what it is supposed to be. I have some very narrow focused beef with the truck. You all know that I am not that far off. I'm fine with rubber mats and industrial interiors, but the plastic is cheap. There are plenty of ways to remain functional and rugged without looking like a Ford Fiesta. But again this is my opinion. Surprisingly the sync 3 ain't bad...
Here you say other trucks you've owned. See, I have read your posts. This is just a sample of things I find off about your comments. But I'll quit now.
You're incredibly astute! I bet you think I don't even own a Raptor! In fact, I bet you think I downloaded this photo off of google! I'm not trying to dupe anyone, but I'm also not looking to argue with people I don't know. I'll keep my posts to myself and you guys can go back to high fives and cheering. You do realize though that improvements and progress are not the result of complacency? Best wishes I deleted the photo. On second thought I don't want you downloading it and looking through the IPhone GPS DATA attached to it. No offense, but I have no idea if you're mentally stable.
I have always driven auto transmissions. When descending hills, I would turn overdrive off and shift from drive to third to help save on brake wear. I understand the hill descent doesn't work above 40mph. Has anyone tried using tow haul mode or a lower gear to slow truck on a descent? I would appreciate any info on how anything worked
I haven't on this one, but my 13 FX4 the tow mode made it downshift in the mountains. I'll try to remember and try it next time.
Wow. So are the paddles sharp and responsive IN sport mode? Or not? Being the mode I would expect the most use on the road.
Death, No they aren't. If you are under full throttle there is considerable lag in ANY mode. If you are under light throttle the paddle shifters will engage fairly quickly. You could argue that it's the clutching that slows it down, but when the truck is in regular automatic with sport mode enabled the thing will shift INSTANTLY under any throttle from a 0-60 run from a dead stop. In fact I can go so far as to compliment the 10 speeds very brisk gear changes (when it wants to). Under rolling starts or at highway speeds when passing it forgets this ability and becomes slow to downshift and doesn't always pick the optimum gear. Beware of folks posting that this is the holy grail of all trucks. It's an incredible machine and I love it, but it isnt without its quirks and short comings.
Vikes I take it back my initial PM to you yesterday.. your boy is back at it again!! pretty sure he needs a major tune up!!
People asking about paddle shifter response. Have any of you owned a automatic with paddle shifters? I've had 3 now and none of them are worth anything IMO. Just a novelty thing. Now my brother has an M3 with a dual clutch and I've driven that several times. Those paddle shifters are awesome, but that is apples to oranges as they say.
