Was looking yesterday underneath the truck. Noticed a lot of RUST, is that normal? But seemed to be an OIL coating on the shields under the truck. Any ideas?

Looks like it's leaking from somewhere.

The rust unfortunately is normal, I was very surprised when I took delivery of mine too and had a bunch of surface rust under the truck. As far as the leak, I would just take it straight to the dealership and have them fix it for free under warranty and not worry about it. The beauty of there not being many aftermarket parts yet for me is that I still actually have a factory warranty! Very similar to you, but different leak, I noticed after 500 miles that my truck had a rear differential leak that coated my rear diff cover, I just took it straight back to dealership and they fixed it immediately. Good Luck, let us know what that leak was? I'd be curious.

Made appointment with Dealership to check leak. Agree on the warranty. Will keep you updated. Thanks.

So the dealership couldn't find the leak. But it was clearly leaking. They cleaned it up and put dye in the oil to track it in about a week. Was out driving, when all of a sudden, had this awful screeching noise coming from the driver's front wheel. Too loud to drive. Had dealership tow it in! They called me the next day, had a ROCK lodged between a guard and the back of the rotor!! I assuming it's a one in a million chance. Isn't this supposed to be an OFFROAD Truck?? How TF does this even happen. Removed rock, no damage to anything else. Oh, found the leak! Exactly where I told them it was leaking from the first time, OIL pan seal no good! Fixed now, back up and running till the next mishap! Sorry, a little disgruntled... This is probably more of a venting.

Ha! Had that happen a long time ago. Sounded like I ran over the tail of a raccoon and he was stuck under the truck and pissed!

I just found the same oil leak at 1100 miles. How long did it take the dealer to make the repair?

It took a day and a half due to letting the new seal dry.

just a quick question regarding this thread.....are these early build trucks that are having issues with the oil pan? Is this something anyone with a later build date has experienced. I'd actually be more interested in seeing what the door jam build date is compared to the issues you guys are having. I am sorry you guys are having to deal with this BS even under a warranty deal, it's a HUGE inconvienience

Found oil pan leak on 2017 Raptor at first oil change. Dealer checked it out and said they would order a new pan and gasket. THEY HAD MY RAPTOR FOR 7 DAYS.

Sorry to hear it, but good luck with better service with any other make. The parent company doesn't give the dealer the freedoms it used to to save money. Now when you are footing the bill you can order whatever parts ahead of time you want, but they won't give you your money back when it doesn't fix the problem.
