    Hello All!

I've got a COBB stage II kit installed, and a Corsa exhaust and turbo spacers. I can get 91oct fuel all over the place, but I'd like to be able to run the tune file for the 93oct.....

So, does anybody have any experience with octane boosters? What brand? How much to use? What octane will my fuel bump up to, and from what starting octane rating fuel, 89 or 91?

Any help and advise is appreciated.

    Thanks to all in advance!

Torco is most likely what you're looking for. Most of the octane boosters they sell at the auto parts store are bogus. They may raise octane a few points, but only fractionally. 10 points is equal to 1 actual octane number. The only real one you may find locally is Lucas octane booster. Both Torco and Lucas use MMT. This will turn all of your spark plugs orange (and foul them quicker). It could also clog your cats and ruin O2 sensors. It is the real deal though and will increase octane.

Ever consider going with an ethanol mix? I'm not sure how much our fuel system in the raptor can handle (I'm new to the platform), but even an E30 mix can make a big difference. It think it would be cheaper as well.

Brian, Thank you for the response. I'm done loading the Stage II tune this morning, and even with plain 'Ol 91oct, it is still a different truck to drive. Really, it's much more like and Off Road Sports Car than it is a hot rodded truck. The Corsa exhaust has it sounding very much like a GT40, especially with the tune.

Given your advice, I'll just wait till I can get some authentic 93 and play it safe. I just got this rig running the way I want, don't want to booger it up already by putting sketchy additives into it.

    Have a great weekend!

I finally managed to find something better than the 91oct mule juice that's prevalent in my area. I got to run my first couple of tanks with 93oct and the COBB Stage II tune for that grade of fuel and I can tell you, it's a wild ride now. JUST F"ING AWESOME! It's crazy quick for a truck, and faster than most "fast" cars. I'm loving it.
