Hello fellow Raptor Owners! Just bought my first 2017 Raptor this week. She's on a trailer bed now being delivered to my door as we speak. Found a great deal on the Magnetic Grey color under 50k miles which was exactly what I was looking for so I can't wait for her arrival and my first drive! Pictures to follow! Question for the thread... What's the very first modification I should make??
One thing you want to do is get the history of this truck. It has the problematic plastic oil pan that leaks. Also, look to see if the cam phasers were already replaced. If not expect that to fail anytime now. Also, look into the oil consumption to see if you have any. Also check if the driver side valve cover is cracked. There are TSBs for all these items except the oil pan. Ford realized the problem fast and switched back to metal oil pans midway through 2018 builds.
Thank you Bravo for the tips, I'll be sure to take it to my buddy to have him check out all the items you mentioned as soon as I'm in possession of the truck.
Always looking for something different. I love the new Bronco, not sport, but that's a ways away. Looked at the new Defender too. Just nothing really makes me feel I'll be happy after the Raptor, yet. After today maybe I'll change my mind, but that's for another post as I'm sitting in a tow truck.
