check you door drains, sunroof tracks etc, many of damp musty smells are due to a small leaks that are very common
Has anyone with the musty smell noticed any stinky sticky residue under the drivers side front and rear door jamb plastics?
Dealer said they ran water all over with no carpet seats or console cant find anything they keep telling me that something must have been spilled but some how didnt get on the mat or carpet just in the door track where the electrical runs the carpet only had one stain on it by the drivers side left foot but no sighn of a leak so the dealer is replacing the carpet bc the smell is so horrid it is putting a tampon on the situation I only have 12000 miles on it if it smells again witch I'm sure it will then I gues I will have to pay a Chevrolet dealer so they can find and have to fight ford for my money back
I had the musty smell last winter. It rained like crazy in Northern California. Kept getting worse. Then the drivers side carpet was wet. Turned out the vent behind the back seat that allows air to escape when you shut the doors was not installed correctly and had been leaking. They found black mold all over the truck under the carpets and did a full carpet replacement. Took a couple weeks but it doesn’t smell anymore at least.
Dealer wants $3800 to replace seals on sunroof and entire back window after already paid $1000 to fix sunroof. wet vacced about a gallon out of floor. wet in both passenger foot wells and across back floor mostly in center.
