    Hey Everyone!

I have had my new (to me) Raptor for a few months now and love it. I live in Michigan and winter is fast approaching which has me wondering if there is anything that I can do to prevent/slow rust on the frame and specifically on suspension areas you can see. I bought the truck from Louisiana and it is spotless now. I am not naive enough to think it wont ever show rust but delaying it would make me feel better. Does anyone in the rust belt have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

What year is your truck? If you have 17-mid 2018 build, keep an eye on the plastic oil pan which is prone to leaks. Also, make sure you listen to the cold start of the truck.if it rattles for 1-3 seconds, you have failed cam phasers. Sadly, the cam phasers have been an issue on all versions of 3.5 ecoboost for quite a few years now.

It is a 17 and I have heard a lot about cam phasers deal in an owners FB group. The plastic oil pan makes me shake my head tho. What were they thinking?...
