If a V8 was an option, would you still go with the 3.5 EB?

If a V8 was an option, would you still go with the 3.5 EB?

  1. 3.5 EB

  2. V8 - TT 5.0, N/A 5.2, and the big dawg 6.2

  3. Speculating a V8 upgrade is like $10K, despite wanting it, rule it out from a cost standpoint

  4. Gremlins bro

I kind of think you're missing the point Dan and once again jumping off on a complete tangent.

Question is simple. Would you whole heartedly rather have the 3.5 EB over a possible V8 upgrade that is superior to the 3.5 in every way? It's fine if you would... Nobody is going to attack you for your opinion.

Yes, this is a speculation topic and so is everything else about the truck because no actual data has been released.

Actually, it's irrelevant because it's not happening.

The difference is that most knew about the 6.2 when the Gen I was initially released with the 5.4

Well when the 3.5 is released we may hear about the 5.0 and that's my point. I was here when all they talked about was the 5.4 back in early 2009

I love the Gen2 and I will buy one and be happy with the ebv6 but given the choice of a v8 with the same power or even a little less I would go with the V8. I'm more old school and nothing is better than the sound of a V8

    hahahahahahahahahah

love how the gen2 guy's are already butt hurt over the possibility of a V8 lol

I'm V8 all the way for good reason and will have to see how a v6 hold's up, even with boost it's just a v6 is it strong enough to hold up????

I'd love to have a V8 in the new truck but Ford has invested too much into the 3.5 for it to only be in the truck for one year. I'm a realist, I don't dream shit like a freakin' unhappy child...:lol2:

It's all gravy. The only thing I'm not pleased with is the wait.

SDHQ's Eco-Raptor seems to be fantastic with its 3.5L EB.

sound's like it dog's out once it start's pulling? like the na if you keep the rpm up it go's. how dos that work with a turbo? in a tractor you just keep the rpm at 2500 and go. pulls down and the turbo kick's in, with the truck if it's already on you still don't get more your already done.

Turbo is actually better in that respect, at least in my experience. The torque is relative to the boost pressure and that builds with load. That's why in a turbo you'll feel that kick more in 3rd say than you would in 2nd. They're awesome when it comes to getting on it like at highway passing speeds or getting off an off ramp.

Diesels in my experience are great getting a big load started up from zero, but then in the 50-80 range it's like whipping a donkey to get them to go.
