Yes, this will happen after each code change you do!!!!!! Scares the crap out of you the first time it happens especially when you turn off the fake engine sound and you get the loud pop!!!!!!!
Auto Start/Stop Disable - OFF DRL - Parking Lights only (stock LEDs only) - ON Autofold Mirrors - ON Reverse Tilt Mirrors - ON Global Window Open/Close - ON Driver & passenger seatbelt minder - OFF Fake engine noise - OFF ( BEST THING TO DO EVER, AUDIO SOUNDS AMAZING NOW) Heated & Cooled Seat Icons on home & climate screen - ON
Oh man just got my obd link in, super nervous about giving it a try but oh well let's see what happens! Great thread by the way!
Showing my ignorance here a little with these new age electronic tricks but was going to see if anyone knows if you can run both the Forscan and 5star tuning together since they both are loaded through your obd port? Ive been waiting patiently and am close to pulling the trigger as soon as 5Star releases their tunes on the SCT X4 box because I wanted the tunes (obviously) but also wanted auto start/stop deleted which is offered already through 5Star. The only thing that I cannot get through 5Star that I wanted to do to my truck is to delete the fake noise and that's were my question comes into play and wondering if I can run both programs through obd and making sure one doesn't cancel out the other? Does anyone out there have experience with this or has ran both programs on their truck perhaps?
FORScan is just the software you run on your PC only. you connect the OBX link thru bluetooth - make the changes you want and then unplug everything - the truck does not carry any new "software" or hardware just the small code changes you made.. I of course cant say for sure but i bet no problems at all..
Finally back from a trip and had time to spend a few minutes with the Raptor and FORScan. Changes: No more fake engine noise! No more double honk while I walk to the mailbox! Autofold Mirrors ON! Changed the panic alarm to double push. I've bumped something with the key in my pocket before and set it off! It was really easy to set it off by mistake on my F-250. Tomorrow morning I'll do: Auto Start/Stop - OFF DRL - Parking Lights only (stock LEDs only) - ON Reverse Tilt Mirrors - ON Global Window Open/Close - ON Driver & passenger seatbelt minder - OFF What am I missing? Only a couple (fake sound & double honk) were truly annoying. The rest are just handy improvements!
Yesterday I was dog training. I threw my hunting buddy in the back and ran the engine. I have never been so embarrassed with my truck honking non stop as I go in and out of it. Next up: get rid of that double honk. What a freakkin annoyance!
FORScan made it really easy to make these changes. I will say I read, reread and watched the videos more than a few times in preparation. Because of that, it went well. I switched the DRLs to foglight only, while I was at it, and then remembered I don't have any! Switched to parking lights as DRLs but, upon inspection and conferring with my 17 year old neighbor, decided they could attract the wrong kind of attention from certain vehicles going opposite direction on highway. I'd rather just be another black truck at first glance. One question: Is it necessary to restore to "as built" settings before servicing truck at dealer? Will they notice and care?
Had the FORScan chat with my service manager. They dont care about any of the accessory stuff (door locks, horn, lights, chimes, stereo engine noise) - that is all good.. They will know pretty quickly if you have an aftermarket Tune / flash, etc.. that is another story.
Thanks vt raptor on giving me confidence in getting it done. Was a little hesitant at first on pulling the trigger on doing the changes but I finally did. Way easier than I thought it would be and man first thing was fake engine noise off!!! So much better in the cab now!!!
Cool.. I think Ford - well anybody selling high end vehicles - should just gives access thru a menu. would be nice to just be able to toggle stuff on and off instead of having to hack into the thing. Oh well. Glad it went smooth
