I read on another forum that Ford is coming out with their own tuner for the Raptor that will not void the warranty. Any truth to that or when its coming out?
I haven't heard, but am sure it won't be cheap or create the power other tuners will if they do. I know they now have tunes for Mustangs, so I'm sure it will be along those lines.
Has anyone speculated what this engine is realistically and long term capable of with respect to HP/TQ?
Great question wparish81- I also have the same question. I watched Roman's video review on TFL and he did say it was a bit sluggish. I have a Denali with the 6.2L with a tuner mod and the thing kicks ass. My new Raptor is being built now (August 10 order) and I hope the power and torque can live up to all the media hype. Fake news on that would be a let down. Can any of you guys who have your trucks now give some insight on how the power and torque is performing? Sluggish like Roman commented?
I have a lot of posts on this topic. I think the engine is pretty sound. I think the sluggish description is a transmission mapping, throttle response, turbo lag kind of issue.
Ford Performance will have a "Performance pack " available for the Raptor just as they do for the Mustang and Focus . Will be a Ford offered part . Once I hear more info I will pass it along .
I am excited. Can always use a little more power! My truck is built and waiting for shipping. Hopefully they can get it on the train asap.
If it's directly from Ford, then it would be nice if they just made it a box we could check when ordering the truck in the first place...
roush has a newone up for ecoboost 3.5 available sept'17 posted but doesnt say (raptor included) so,not sure if that will be for raptors. was waiting for roush
