Diggs - i dont think Sync 3 has mirror link. Just have Android Auto or Apple Car Play. I use Android Auto - works great. download Android Auto to your phone then connect to either USB port - helps if nothing is plugged into the other port like ipod. It will either start Android Auto automatically or it will add a function button on bottom of your screen. Just hit that and now your phone screen goes blank but you can use any approved Auto apps - Google maps (love it!! 10x better than Ford Nav) and any compatible Auto music program - I use Amazon and Google play. Also nice when you hit the microphone button the Google chick is there not the sync chick. So you can tell Google to get directions without using an address, or my favorite you can tell Google to TEXT a contact.. nice..
if u got an i-thing u gotta enable SIRI for it to work. i know i'm not a fan of the NSA tracking me either but they already have like 3 GPS units up everybody's ass so whats 1 more
When someone sent me a YouTube link and I had my Apple play enabled it played the video. Tried to retry it.... Never worked again
hate hate hate hate hate Android Auto. Deleted that crap off my phone. The only advantage mentioned was the google assistant and map. Biggest gripe was changing back to the sync 3. Pain in the rear when driving. Until someone comes out with a sync 3 mirror app (say for Waze and movies) I am disappointed in the phone integration and only use it for actual phone calls.
That said - I did see somewhere that there is a new upgrade with Sync 3 (I don't know my Wifi on the phone and truck doesn't seem to like me too much so I havent upgraded) and Waze 'supposedly' works now can someone confirm? I don't have cycles to deal with it.
Anyone find a way to get rid of the Wifi Connect message for update when you update to SYNC VERSION 3.0 ?? Everytime you turn your rig on its there... you have to hit close
Okay, I got around to upgrading to Sync3 v.3.0. While I haven't played around with anything really, I will say I did put Android Auto back on my phone and for the first time ever I like it. Still annoying as shit that I don't know what is playing on my radio, and any alerts just beep with no notification. HOWEVER - Waze works!!! And it works just like it does on the phone, just bigger! Couldn't be happier.
