Does anyone know how the 17 Raptor's powerplant will differ from the Ford GT's?

The Ford GT puts out 550HP and the racing version is about 650HP as built by Roush Yates.

Could the 2017 Raptor put out 550HP with some tweaks?

well this is the million dollar question, right? What's it going to be released with, and what are the basic goodies to make the platform perform better? I for one want to be the guinea pig for a stage I and stage II

Having the same block as the GT is a good start, will be interesting to see what else comes over. Hopefully the fuel system has been significantly upgraded, major weak point on making power in the curent 3.5.

didn't see the GT only coming with 550, is that legit or rumor?

I wouldn't see the Raptor having the same if that's the case, but an intake/tune/downpipe on a TT combo makes it easily attainable.

The good news is Ford announced its both direct injection and manifold injection....anyone following ecoboost performance knows the fuel is the limiting factor with direct injection, and ford adding dual injection on it says volumes right there for the power it'll be capable of. THere's be no reason to add all that complexity and cost for dual injection if they weren't going to push it beyond what direct injection only could supply!
