Sit back, you're going to enjoy this.
So it's time for my first oil change and the last place you take it around here is to the dealer. So I go to my local shop where I have been dealing for 30 years. I stopped in last Friday to set it up and told them it was a Raptor and was told we do F-150's all the time, to which I said, this is Not a regular F-150. But anyway took it up this morning and they put it up on the track. After a couple minutes I asked if I could go back and watch, that was the first mistake. About the time I was walking under the front of the truck they were taking out the drain plug, those of you that have done this knows what's going to happen next. Oil went everywhere except in the drain can, on the rack, on the service guy and all over my new coat. It's OK to laugh NOW.
Needless to say, I won't ever ask to watch again.

Haven't done mine yet, really need to. I remember as a kid my mom took her Subaru to an Oil Can Henry's and they installed the wrong filter, cross-threaded whatever they put on there. Discovered the problem when the oil light came on - big mess. How do you screw that up? I don't typically like other people monkeying with my vehicles if I can avoid it.

I understand we have a plastic drain plug, but is there anything special that caused these guys to ruin your new coat? Or just bozos?

I'm sitting here laughing my a$$ off at your comment. No, I really have to take up for these guys, they take care of all my vehicles, even come to the house if a situation comes up. They had the funnel up as high as they could get it, but if you've seen the units it made basically for oil to come out of the bottom so it's coming straight down. Our Raptors shoots out the side which they weren't expecting with such force. If you've seen any of the pictures guys have left here on the site, on their first time, the same thing happened. As far as the coat my wife bought me, use that stuff called Stain Stick, let it sit for an hour or so, then throw it in the wash and it looks like brand new. I've heard on one of the Raptor sites that a lot of dealers use the pump through the filler tube which gets most of it out, then finish up through the drain plug.
CMAC you take care and thanks for giving me a good laugh.
