6 months of wait and owned it for 5 months and 3400 miles. Water up to top of tires and a few inches inside cab. Hoping insurance will total and I'll work on another

That sucks, but what could be the issue if the water went up to the wheel wells, and a little in the floor of the cab? I doubt the damage is more then the value of the truck. Maybe a carpet replacement, possibly replace some wiring it the floor. I can't think of anything else it may damage only going that high

Is it still underwater or has it dried up a little in your area? Your car next to it seems like it may have a ton more water in it.

I'm with Shaggy, it doesn't seem too bad. It's fresh water, right?

I thought the Raptor was good for 36" of water travel?

    Poor guy, that really sucks!!!!

I hate to be the downer here but since i do live in TX i have to ask why the hell you didn't relocate yourself knowing this was coming? Some preventive measure on your own part would've further prevented your situation. The truck is good for 36" of water, at what point were you waiting for to decide to move it, family and non replaceable items to higher ground?

I don't think it's fresh water because Harvey was able to pick up all that moisture as it passed over the Gulf.

    Sorry for your loss Greg.

Oh man. Sorry for your losses. At least you have your health. (warning: bad pun coming) I wouldn't hold my breath on insurance. All the insurance companies are going to be underwater for a while with claims. Probably prematurely deny them as well - esp since FEMA is involved. FEMA fubared everyone up here in the northeast when Sandy devastated NJ and LI.

I moved from San Antonio to Houston on Tuesday and storm began Friday. I moved my BMW to office garage and figured raptor with clearance would be fine.

Water was 3.5' higher in my neighborhood than it has ever been. The highest ever water level was edge of my driveway. We had 4' of rain in 48 hours!

Water is nasty and inside of truck stinks. Insurance is going to give me 74k for it. I am tempted to take off bead locks and replace with something else for use on my next one but am headed to Arizona today for a wedding so I don't think I'll beat the wrecker on that.

Way happy for you. I had the same in Katrina and my insurance covered it. Question, Has anyone used the K n N or S n B air filters. My buddy swears by the air filter will give more life to the twin turbos and it more fuel efficiency and power. Any thoughts ?

My insurance has been great so far. I am getting a few thousand over what a dealer offered in trade for the flooded Acura next to the truck.

I can't bear to watch as this thing get pulled onto the wrecker. My neighbors have all had some losses as well. Porsches, land rovers, m series BMWs line our street. Half of he area car dealerships were flooded as well. The news says 500,000 vehicles will be lost in the area.
