just heard the new pipes from Ford performance that just came out. Sound 100x better. Still doesn't eliminate the turbo whine, but at idle you know there is some serious horsepower in it.

Kind of bizarre partnership really. Seems redundant. Considering my borla at Atak mid pipes ship this week, so ford is having borla make a "ford performance" system when borla already has at least 3 different gen 2 options. Curious to see what is different.

Same as borla, just rebranded Ford. 2 options: sport and touring. So atk and whatever the other borla is

I believe the Ford Performance Sport and Touring are comparable to Borla's S-Type and Touring. I don't believe Ford Performance offers an equivalent to Borla's ATAK.

I just put the borla atak mid pipes on.
First impressions: I'll be a little wordy but I feel like it will benefit those on the fence.
Startup: bottom line. It sounds like these were the pipes that were supposed to be on it. The engine sounds pretty mean during its wait to lower idle. At ref lights it will be a noticeable grumble. Very little cab noise.

Acceleration: this is where it really rips, and honestly may be too much for some. It pushes the border of functional versus just a noise maker, and if the engine had any less power it just wouldn't be justified...but It does. And it's a raspy tearing banshee of a takeoff similar to the throaty newer vettes. It turns heads... everywhere , if that matters to you.

Cab noise: almost can't tell aftermarket is on it but you need to get through some throaty parts to cruise at no noise. There is no drone at cruise. At all.
Some in quieter neighborhoods may want to go quieter, it will be hard to not be "that guy"

Overall. I think it is a great raptor accessory. It just fits.

Just got the Atak , i will agree with the above post. It pretty much takes care of any complaint about the v6 not sounding good. However after only one day i can tell my neighbours are not impressed. The atak is a serious exhaust sytem if you want a little less sound go with the"s" . All in all i am very impressed not sure if i will keep the atak long term it might be just too much but i will definetly do the summer and see. Also i work in law enforcement and i will
Say that the truck with the atak does not go unnoticed so if you like being under the radar you may want to go the "s" route as well. If you want just a throaty raspy note the atak is the best option but be warned its loud, there is no resonator!

Borla exhaust would void warranty? I wouldn't have thought it would matter.

Blackhole, can you clarify the warranty stuff if possible. I dont see anyway in hell that the atak or any borla mid pipes could cause warranty issues. Its the easiest possible bolt on install downstream from anything important. The first place upstream Im aware that can cause problems is downpipes with predetonation issues, need to be running a tune if you do those. Other than that, I can't imagine how ford could ever tie any bad engine outcomes to mid pipes and therefore call it voided warranty. Thanks.

Although I think the borla S type would be the best fit for me Im on the fence. After spending several thousands on aftermarket mods already Im not sure I can justify the cost for a cool sound. just saying

I'm wanting the S too because I would like to be a bit more snarly, I had Borla on my '10 and like their products. I am not liking the price of admission either Gdog, maybe they will reduce it in a year or so?

Does borla actually reduce their price ever?
