What are you guys finding in terms of hitch drop needed for a regular trailer? I'm not hauling horses, an rv, nor a digger. Just looking for small water craft and wondering what people are seeing given the receiver height on the beast.

Yup, that is what I am thinking - an adjustable. But with drops from 4-10" I wanted to start eliminating some of them. These are what I am considering:

pretty cool hitch - and useful. What size you thinking? I am so lost as to how big I should get it. 10" just seems like it belongs on a F-750 and 4" on a Focus.

Normally I would agree. But respectfully disagree on this point. Given the soft suspension, put a little too much on the tongue an hit a bump, you could bottom it out. I just don't know that is why I was hoping to get some input on here. I think there is a post somewhere on here I will look at again.

so what is the ideal ball height for a stock raptor for a light duty standard utility trailer. question is do I need a 4" drop hitch or 5.5 . I'm not looking for an adjustable hitch , just a steel drop hitch .

Well, it all depends on what trailer you're towing. I've had a 3 way adjustable class IV B & W for many years. It is pricey, but the most versatile hitch made IMO. I tow a whole menagerie of trailers, so having an adjustable rig is a must. But if you even tow 2 different trailers, it's worth buying one of these, it will pay you back big time. It can be inverted if need be, and a pintle adapter is available too. I recommend the 6" unit.

I use a standard light weight trail or to tow my Polaris Rzr 1000 and I'm using a 5.5" drop hitch. It sits level.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be going with the 6" Weigh Safe according to this info.
