Rather than add additional parts and have another point of failure, I saw the opportunity to use a longer spring with more weight bearing. Eibach came out with the new Pro-Lift Performance Lift Springs. Link is here. No difference in ride or handling so far. You can feel the difference in your ass in the seat as well as when you climb up in the truck. Springs cost about $200 and gather install and alignment was $290. Looks good, feels good, so far I am happy. top of wheel well was 39.5" and now its 41.875
Looks sweet! I like the idea of going with a new spring over adding preload. I like the beadlock rings.
i really like the idea of bigger springs vs. the shock collars too... waiting to see some other companies come out with the same approach....
Just to confirm the ride isn't any different? Not any stiffer? How about the nose dive when braking is that eliminated?
It definitely is not the same as stock. Significantly stiffer. Honestly I don't care for it at all and may go back to stock springs soon, but I'm waiting to see if Eibach makes a taller spring that will retain the factory ride. It does eliminate nose dive in braking, but rides pretty rough on small stuff and almost seems like it rebounds too much off road. It may very well prevent bottoming out on large compressions, but I don't like them. On stock springs I would hit stuff a little faster than I anticipated and nothing would happen. Really smooth. This goes over it, but a lot more jarring. I like Eibach and they make good stuff, but pass on this spring setup til they do some more testing.
there's a reason the most knowledgeable folks in the biz designed spacers for the stock shocks. It works.
They do work. However those companies are also not spring/shock manufacturers so I wouldn't say that springs are a bad thing I just don't think Eibach got it right. I'm still hoping I can send these back to Eibach in exchange for a better spring setup. Springs are the way to go just not these ones.
Geiser is making a spring. I just got a set. They are not for sale yet. Not for several weeks. I got the first set of final springs. I'm putting them on Tuesday.
Thanks for the information. I have been debating these for a few weeks. I want it leveled, but I think I'll focus on researching other options or give it a little more time and see if another/softer spring comes out. Truck looks great man, I love the Ford Performance panel decal.
