1st time owner, 2nd time user. When I came back from Italy I couldn't find any new ones. So. I made it personal to own one by building it from the ground up. Took me 3 yrs of waiting but I love it more than 2014 that I test drove almost every month...lol

STOP!!! Think about this! DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID TWICE!!!. GET THE RAPTOR!! NO QUESTION ABOUT! ESPECIALLY AT MSRP. At least I was looking at getting ripped off and paying $12,000 over MSRP. You think you want a limited NOW but you really don't! The Raptor is a performance truck and one of the baddest ass trucks available even as a street hitter. The Raptor 802a has every luxury item that the limited does! or at least one's that you will really use!
I was at your same line of thinking two months ago with the same comparisons. I wrote multiple list on what optionS I really wanted between the RAPTOR and a Platinum with every bell and whistle! I never regretted anything more then not going with the Raptor! and for what, massage seats I never use(thought I would but it's not that great and shouldn't be a selling point).
Trust Me! I just got out of a 2014 F150 Platinum with a 6.2 liter engine just like the Raptor but again it was no Raptor! Why I went with a Platinum 2017 again is beyond me! I over thought it like you are doing!
Again if you can get a Raptor with the 802a package at MSRP or even $5,000 over MSRP DO IT!! You will never look back! Resale value ALONE should sway you.
But owning the baddest ass truck ever built should be your ultimate reason!!!
If you can get the Raptor Technology package, heated steering Wheel, Tailgate step, spray in liner and bed cover AS WELL, there would be nothing more you would ever need.
The only thing that a Limited would have over that is the massage seats and the self deploying running boards but not as nice suspension or as bad ass of an engine. And trust me you will use it more and get more out of the better engine and suspension.
Grocery getter or Mud play either way Raptor Rules!
There is also a big misconception that a Limited will handle and drive better on the Highway. Well that's a bunch of BULL! The Raptor handles twice as nice as the Limited or Platinum. You got to remember the Limited is a truck as well. I drove my buddies Raptor on the parkway the other day and was amazed as to how nice it drove! I thought it would be bouncy like my other buddies lifted Limited. You got to remember everything on the Raptor is stock! That suspension blows away the limited suspension. Raptor Tires run great on the road as well and your spare tire is exactly the same as your other tires.

Please, Please think twice! or some day you will be driving down the road in your limited pulling up to a bad ass Raptor and thinking to yourself, I Could have had that! While the Raptor darts ahead of you as you sit there with your lame ass massage seats on. LOL

Sorry for the burst! Just trying to help!
I'm counting down the days until I can get out of this lease and get myself into a Raptor!
YOU WILL NEVER REGRET BUYING A RAPTOR!! TRUST ME! GET THE RAPTOR AND NEVER LOOK BACK!!!!

AND IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE THAT HAS ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO GET OUT OF A 39 MONTH LEASE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! SO I CAN GET MYSELF INTO A RAPTOR PLEASE ADVISE!

I recently got my custom ordered 2017 Raptor after years of driving mostly Ford F-350 Super Duties (Lariat models) and the occasional F-150 FX4 model (Limited). I can honestly say that buying the Raptor was the best decision I have made in a long time. No other vehicle I have ever driven has been so much fun, even in city traffic. The terrain modes are amazing. When I am in heavy traffic that requires frequent lane changes and merging in and out of traffic, I switch to Sport mode and it feels like driving a sports car. The power and speed is insane.

I also recently drove my Raptor through the ND hill country over dirt and gravel roads. I switched to Baja mode and pushed the pedal to the medal. Granted, I only went up to about 75 mi/hr for safety reasons, the truck felt like it was glued to the road, even on loose gravel. There is no comparison to my previous experiences going down those same roads in an F-150 FX4. On asphalt I had the truck up to 110 mi/hr, despite going up and down hills. The Raptor handles and drives better than any other truck I have ever owned, no matter whether you are on dirt or going down the highway.

I will never fully use this truck for what it was designed, i.e. off-road racing, but I know that my truck is capable of doing so, should the need arise. I use my Raptor for daily commute and the occasional off-road fun, within reason. However, should I ever have to go off the grid for a while, this truck will get me a whole lot further than any other. Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Even though I paid MSRP (no mark-up), the truck is still very expensive, but it is worth every penny and I am as excited about driving it today as I was the day I first got behind the wheel.
I ordered my Raptor with the Equipment Group 802A, the Raptor Technology Package and everything else I could add, except the graphics packages, interior accent package or beat-lock rims. I have all the comfort, luxury, technology and performance I could ever want or need. Your decision should be a no-brainer.

So after doing the Raptor Assault (which you get with purchase of Raptor) I have a lot larger appreciation for the technology that is in the Raptor down to the technology for the wheels and shocks. Also you can get the larger tank for a few hundred more. Just the safety in all conditions and speed is enough to justify it.

I disagree. I have done it as well. You just have to be accelerating hard and by time the governor kicks in you are over it. Just not for long.

For some reason I had convinced myself that the raptor had a smaller tank (it was because the supercab was selected by default and it does have a smaller tank). Was my mistake. raptor crew and limited crew (optional) both have a 36g tank.

I read your entire post in a yelling voice in my head. Which was awesome.

I spent a few days going over the options to determine if i was going to miss out on anything major and didnt find anything really. I figured I would use the massage seat probably once and never bother again. SO I kept looking around for one at sticker and kept running into ADM at every turn. Then one dealer mentioned they had a 2018 coming in and then i realized ordering was open. One of my local dealers called me back and offered me their first allocation so I went ahead and started my order. Still waiting on a dora but my orders in.

I figure if by some demon magic I dont love it after a year I'll just walk away from it without a loss. Pretty sure I'm going to be happy with it though :D

I think the only options I skipped were the graphics (I dont drink enough mt dew to merit them) and the seat accents cause the orange was a little much. Otherwise I got everything else (cept ramps etc).

Pretty excited. Hoping to have a build date soon.

was wondering if you were going to pop back on.

Glad to hear you got an order! I can tell you I could not be happier. Good choice. If for no other reason to have people compliment you on your truck. I can't imagine Limited get compliments like a Raptor does.

Yeah the Limited probably doesnt. I dunno though, I had a 10 Sierra Denali and I couldnt walk out of a parking lot without someone talking to me about it or leave a stop light without some guy staring it down.

Pretty stoked to get their first allocation. Hopefully that'll shorten my wait time some. They get about 20 a year so I'd expect them to get them asap.

    Build looks like this:
    2018 Screw
    lead foot gray
    802a
moonroof (waffled back and forth on this one but got just to help with resale if/when i get rid of it)
    carbon fiber package
    tailgate step
    beadlock wheels
    tech package
    spray in
Destination and Delivery - I'm really excited about this mystery option. It's $1300 so I bet its rad! :p

Anyone got any production date estimates? I dont really care if i'm getting it in august or january. I'm just glad I dont have to play grabass with dealerships that want to play the markup game.

Lol. Thanks, Sherlock. Since I was going faster than I probably should have and kept my eyes on the road, I only glanced at the speedometer and the needle was near the 110 mi/hr mark. Easy to mistake 109 for 110 at a brief glance. I don't use the digital speedometer, otherwise I would have read "109 mi/hr.

Lol! Congratulations. I am confident that you will not regret your decision. Looks like you opted for the same things that were important to me, when I ordered mine.
