I'm in California, and I'm plan on buying a 2017 Raptor out of state. (they want too much $$ here in California)

Is the 2017 Raptor have the same emission in all states?

Anybody in California bought a Raptor out of state?

I had the same issue, I live in Maryland where they have strict emissions and purchased in North Carolina where they don't have crazy emission laws. I drove down to trade my old F150, paid for the new raptor, and as I was walking out the door they said we had an issue. There was no California emissions on the truck. Long story short, I wasn't able to leave with that truck, and had to order one, specifically with CA emissions. 2 1/2 months later the truck came in with CA emissions and I was set. If you purchase a truck without the CA emissions out of state, you will not be able to register it in CA. Make sure the window sticker says CA emissions included. Good Luck!

Yes, it is one of the blocks on the order sheet that you and the dealership check off. If you have one built, make sure you verify (when available) that the window sticker has the CA emissions on there. I also ran into that issue (where it wasn't on the window sticker), it was a mess up on the factory, which delayed everything one week...not that big of a deal in the whole process. The crazy thing is that it is a free option, and wonder why they don't just install on all of them.

Because I don't want the extra emissions on mine. And I would venture to say a lot of others feel the same way.

I'm with you on that, I would have had my truck a few months earlier if it wasn't for the emissions, but it prevents a lot of people from being able to find or buy one from another state without the emissions regulations.

I ordered mine through a dealer in Idaho $125. air flight and drove it home, Paid MSRP and made sure it had CA emissions zero issues. Before you go to DMV you need a smog inspection and bring the paper work with you. They check the VIN. and a sticker under the hood and you need the paper work from ford.

Can someone elaborate please? Does this downgrade the power to meet CA standards? I'm moving out there in September and was looking at getting a Raptor (For the record, I am probably further to the right than anyone here, but that's where my Job needs me)

Adding some additional information here to help fellow CA prospective owners...

To my understanding, all the 2017-18 Raptor's have the CA Emissions sticker under the hood no matter how it was ordered
, don't worry about the window sticker or the Certificate of Origin.

CA DMV only requires that it has the CA Emissions sticker under hood.

You will need to weight your truck, smog it and pay the fee's (including tax if it wasn't included) at the CA DMV.

That's all there is to it.

Here are some pictures shown of the Emissions sticker under the hood. Sticker shown left (w/gray) is a CA model and right (w/blue) is a Non-CA model sticker. They are exactly the same. There is just an additional process to go through to get it registered as I mentioned above.

While I have not gotten my truck yet to have actually gone through this process, this topic has been covered extensively on other forums. Basically, from what I've seen and read, no one that has bought a truck out of state has been unable to register their truck in CA. The only other issue I've heard is that the Dealer won't sell to CA owners because they think it can't be registered, but hey just need to be educated on it. I have attached some of the links that have helped me to understand all of this.
