Limited or Raptor. I know, wtf right?

Hear me out at least before you pour gas on me and toss a match.

So I've had a GC SRT for the last 4 or so years. Overall not impressed, been looking to get rid of it for a while. Along the way I picked up a great dane puppy who doesnt do so well in the backseat of a GC so I've decided to get a truck. GMC uglied the Denali trim up and everyone elses trucks are boring so I've got my mind set on an F150. (mom's had a 95 f150 since she bought it new so that helped me lean this way too)

So now I'm at a crossroads. I've managed to find a dealer that will sell me a Raptor for sticker and I can get a Limited for invoice, maybe a little under. So either model is totally in my reach. I know the limited front to back mostly since it was my first choice (Raptor just seemed ridiculous tbh, then they grew on me) but I'm really new to Raptors.

Reasons I want a Raptor:
I like the name
I like that I can drive over curbs
I like the power increase
Great resale value (theres a 2014 with 70k miles here theyre selling for 45k, thats amazing)
Also I wont be jumping it over any buildings or sand dunes (unless I find some) so it will mostly spend its time on the streets.

Reasons I want a Limited:
Comfortable
Classy
Options for days
Huge gas tank

So finally my questions!

The best I can tell the only real differences between an 802a Raptor and a 900a Limited is:

1. HP
2. Obviously 1 is for street the other has offroad capabiities
3. Wheels (I've chewed my GC's wheels up the last year somehow so I'm nervous about getting street wheels again. I figure the raptor will just drive over anything i accidently bump into)
4. Appearance, obviously.
5. Limited has a larger fuel tank
6. Interior trim on the Limited is a bit fancy
7. Towing capacity difference
8. Slight ride difference. I can tell the Raptor's on larger tires but it doesnt ride like a log truck or anything.

Thats all I can think of at a glance, Is there anything obvious that I left out? Any big options on the Limited that the Raptor absolutely doesnt have? I've driven both and the only complaint about the Raptor I have is (and maybe this was just a new car fluke) the brakes on the one I test drove felt like I had to really plan ahead for stopping and then i had to put the pedal waaaaaay further than I feel like i should to stop. I felt like I was going to run out into the intersection. Limited didnt feel that way so I'm thinking maybe its just a new car thing.


tl;dr: Are there any drastic option differences between a Limited and a Raptor beyond cosmetics? Are Raptor brakes all soft or did i just find one thats needs its lines bled?

Reminds me about asking my girlfriend a few simple questions about politics . She slams the republicans and hates trump and talks elite type jargon but deep down she had conservative values. I will dismiss her misgivings on parent influence , so she was a confused soul not knowing what team or position she really was on.

Now you my friend are not confused , you strike me as a limited customer all the way, no disrespect intended. Your list of pro's for raptor are not on list for most here.
You sound like you know what you want and need is to confirm , go limited over raptor per your requirements and perks listed.

Btw All trucks , fords , jump curbs with ease.

Now that big ass dog inside of any truxk is another topic altogether

Yeah i totally wont utilize the Raptor for what it was "meant" for no doubt. I do really like the aesthetics + the added power though. I'm going from an SRT jeep so I'm struggling a little with the power change lol. The Raptor felt like a decent compromise though. Granted, my dealer said I could tune a Limited if I let them install it and retain my warranty no problem.

It'll probably really come down to if I fall in love with it when I go check it out in a week or so. I drove an 801a and had no trouble saying no thanks so I'm not totally blinded by power/fun lust. I'm really just trying to make sure I'm not losing any deal breaking options with a Raptor that I'll miss. I'm honestly a little skeeved out by the leather color in the Limited so that's a downside for me. At least the Raptor is a solid color inside.

To answer your brake question, the raptor seems to have this reputation. I personally was shopping for brakes before I picked up my raptor. Long story short, the brakes are shockingly great in mine. No issues, complaints, or weakness.

So it probably needs a bleed.

Also, yes is this a real question? A lot of people would give up their left nut for a raptor. If you are even waffling on the decision, go limited since I don't think you'd appreciate what the raptor is providing you.

This question has been posed by more than a few people that seem to want their indecisiveness vetted by a bunch of enthusiasts in a particular forum to sway their thinking in a particular direction. It's like going to a Viper forum and asking if you should buy a Corvette. Whichever argument you make, there's an equally compelling one for the other side. The bottom line is, you want to drive something that's the most bad ass truck to ever leave a factory production line, or settle for Aunt Mabels grocery getter?

Get a Raptor or spend the rest of your life wishing or wondering...

TBH, I hate my Raptor, why;
- All the attention I get which pisses my wife off.

- All the hard trail I drove through last weekend on the Continental Divide here in Colorado. With ease!

- All the room in the backseat to sleep two comfortably which I get sexually harassed when I try to sleep.

- Got a ticket (court appearance, only speeding ticket in my life) for 102 in 65 going a mile up hill. Didn't know it could go that fast.

- All the friends I made along the way since I became a Raptor owner...Gdog, Sapper, Shelter, NoMaster, just to name a few.

Don't buy it. Stick with the Limited.

Aside from all the obvious reasons/differences, why do you state "huge gas tank" as a plus for the Limited model. I have a 36 Gallon tank in my Raptor which is a "huge gas tank" for an F150. How much bigger do you need? Also, I haven't done any research on a Limited, but does a Limited have a bigger than 36 Gallon tank???? I'd be surprised if that's the case?

In 13 I was going to get a raptor but didn't want to pay msrp so I went with an fx4 with a lift rims tires. I liked that truck but regretted not getting tnt raptor. So 4 years later I got the raptor and couldn't be happier.
