once you have your bluetooth connected and Forscan software running and and you find all the modules before you make any changes do a save to disk. Then each time i make a change i do another save. This way if anything is off or not working right you can easily go back. Its pretty easy - go slow and "measure twice, cut once" !!!

After you register you need to wait for them to send you your password. once you are logged in and have downloaded the software you request an extended license right from the login page..

The thought of doing was worse than doing it. Not unlike going to the dentist:jester: This isn't for someone that's dyslexic though, one digit backwards would wreak havoc! It's a little un nerving when the truck is resetting itself when you save stuff.

So when I registered from the FORScan Forum I got an email right away saying "thank you for registering" and i got another email later that evening - maybe 6 or 8 hours saying the ADMIN has activated my account. That is just get on the forum and then a few weeks later i asked for the "extended license" - i did that while sitting in the truck getting my bluetooth to connect. That response came back within 10 or 15 minutes..

Not trying to be difficult. If you read thru all the posts - i find that very informative for me anyway - you will see my post about what you need and why I would NOT get the IOS version.

Anyway. WINDOWS is what i use and works perfectly. Many people have reported problems using the IOS version.

welcome to the Forum by the way.

I only did the Lincoln auto fold mirrors, temperature above gauges, and the heated/cooled seats controls on the touch screen.

I found that turning secure idle on causes the truck to oscillate idle between 600 and 950 ish. Without it on, it stayed at 600. So I disabled secure idle.

I think I will turn off engine noise too to see how I like that since I have an aftermarket muffler sound anyway.

I also want to try to recalibrate the speedometer for 37", but the calibration template only uses 315/70 type aspect ratios.

Looking over the forscan forums - they call out the ODBlink as amateur and limited. any issues with it for what us garage hackers need it for? Looking over that spreadsheet I can see a number of items I would like to edit, and probably will should my dealer ever get the damn truck off the ramp.

    ive been using
    ScanTool 426101 OBDLink MX Bluetooth
    FOR WINDOWS / ANDROID

I have had no problems with what I wanted to do. Got rid of the fake engine noise / added secure idle / added the coolant and trans temp and got rid of the very annoying double honk.. Was easy and has been very reliable so not sure what is amateur about it. As far limited what else do you want to do?

    Ditto!!!!
Took a little effort to get it all together working but that's more because of the unknown of how it all works.
Once i had it connected and sync'd no problem, go to the code, note a copy of current code and then make the change.

    That simple!

So, I have a Raptor delivering some time next week, but trying to understand some of these posts. The features of fake engine noise and auto start stop (assuming this is the feature that cuts the engine at stop lights, etc.) are not controllable by the user without investing in a way to hack the truck's internal computer? These seem like typical owner preferences that you should be able to turn on and off through the vehicle settings. I know when I drove another F-150, the salesman said you could disable auto start stop if it bothered you.

    Yes and no!!!!!!

Can you turn off the start/stop, it resets every time you cycle the ignition so you back to it being on again.

If you want it off and not have to jack with it all the time then you need to go into the Hex codes and turn it off and disable the switch.

Fake engine noise can only be turned off via the Hex Codes too.

There a host of other features you can turn on or off too like auto fold mirrors and secure idle when your away from the truck, etc.

It the best $80 you'll ever spend on the truck.
