Has anyone chosen a performance air intake yet? If yes what did you choose and what kind of lift in horsepower and torque are you getting? Thx for all your help
I've seen now multiple online but they come with minimal gains for the price. I may do the Hennessy 50hp package which comes with one. I'll let you know......
ok great Rapere1-thx so much. The Airaid product claims 33HP gain but no performance specs at what RPM to back it up, so I am doubting their claim...
roush dealer said they coming out with a raptor performance pack. no timing. think im waiting for that.
I know Hennessy has one developed but they don't claim such a high net gain. For that it makes me wonder if Airaid is full of shit with their claim. As always, buyer beware! We have the newest toys on the market and we all want to personalize them. We're chomping at the bit for options and i'm already seeing crap with no backup to their claims............
What's interesting is pulling up Hennessy velociraptor 600 for the Gen 2 and seeing what kinda numbers as far as HP/TQ and 0-60/quarter mile times. Very impressive but from what I can gather is they have cat back exhaust, cold air, and an in house tune. There is so much potential for this motor and I haven't taken delivery of my truck yet but will gladly drive it stock until there are credible numbers with consistency. The last thing any of us want is trying to figure out how to get a $70,000 truck covered under warranty due to a catastrophic engine failure. I think one could drop $2000 into a CAI/exhaust/tune package and be more than happy with the final outcome. I myself have had very good luck with Livernois with all my ecoboost applications and am patiently waiting to see what they come up with once they take delivery of their truck
Also look at the 50Hp option! A lot less money, it's a milder tune, can install and tune at home, not outrageous #'s and I've been told will still be under factory warranty. I understand the full info will be coming out soon. I'm really considering this option. I don't need massive power or that expense. A little quicker and a little more top end with a bit more pull through the band. I'd be happier (for a while)
I installed the K&N 63-2592 Air Intake. I felt the truck needed to breathe better! And fortuantly it fitted the 2017 although its for a 2015-16 Turbo charged F-150. Not going to stick with it, but thought you guys should know that it fits with minor wire modification! Works and sounds great! Dyno Numbers: 23.01hp @ 3505rpm 34.48lbft @ 3505rpm
I forgot who it was on the forum here, but someone is already running the S&B intake which is budget friendly at $299 and a great product. I have had several S&B intakes on other applications and always thought it was a quality product for the price offering. May want to look into that as well.
Roush just out today got the email. $410 free shipping no tax http://www.roushperformance.com/parts/ROUSH-2015-plus-Ecoboost-V6-F150-Cold-Air-Intake.html ordered !!
Let us know how it works out. I had a friend email me the same link but since i see nothing quoted in gains i'm going to hold off just a bit. Instead i'll put the money to the JMS stuff first and come back to this after that........
Yes, I too am very interested in your overall results and what you think about it after you install. Blackhole, please post your opinion on the product and if you recommend, that would be greatly appreciated!
