    Just got this bed extender.

    https://www.realtruck.com/amp-resea...uctid=479513&gclid=CImJ9q-d0NICFQhWDQodfCEFjg

Just trying to figure out best way to install it. I was hoping to use amp's no dril installation kit (https://www.realtruck.com/amp-resea...ort+for+Ford&gclid=CM2pxoat0tICFRtXDQodGJYGqw ) but, word of warning, it does NOT fit on a gen 2 raptor. For some reason the holes in the back of the bed it is supposed to go into are much smaller.

when I spoke to the folks at realtruck.com they said I needed to use the tonneau cover spacer kits (I also bought an extang full till cover). Not really sure I understand why I need them though? I am also a bit trepidatious about having to drill holes in the bed. Anyone have experience with this? Anything I need to watch out for?

    Thanks all

Don't worry about drilling holes. I've done this a fair amount over the years. Two things: 1). Measure twice, drill once. Use a metal punch to locate the hole so the drill bit doesn't wander. Use a new split point drill bit (or a bit made to drill metal and designed to not wander) 2) deburr the new holes with a round file and cover the edges with paint. It is way easier than you think.

And yes, you'll get a lot of sissy boys who don't want to drill a small hole into their big burly truck.

Keep in mind there are already a number of factory holes in your truck. These holes don't leak or rust. Just be careful and prep the hole with the file and then paint the edges. Practice on a piece of sheet metal from the hardware store...you'll be just fine.
