I had the 11 5XR. RS3 before they were 50 state legal. Loved that car, but when I moved to Wyoming I too never drove it.
As I understand it, the total number of Raptor allocations issued to dealerships is per year. My local dealer had one Raptor allocation and it was sold within hours of receipt. That is why I, like most others, had to look out of state. 3000x1=3000 For argument sake, top 100 had 25 additional 3000+2500=5500 total allocations.
I also ordered mine in Oct and still don't have a build date. My dealer told me I was second on the list. They have since received 3 Raptors and none were mine. So, I'm thinking I will keep my 2011 F-250 Diesel that only has 17200 on it and put on a Banks Cat back, 4 in lift and 20" tires and rims. Will save me money. If I do decided to get one I will wait till 2018 and order from a different dealer.
I ordered 10/17. I also was second on the list. The first went to the owner's friend. I do't know if other Raptors have come and gone into the dealership. My order was a Scab, lightning blue, 802 pkg., with limited options. My MSRP was a little over $60K. When the Raptor came out, I was happy to finally have a full size extended cab that could fit in my garage. Regular cabs, midsize trucks or SUV's are my only options. My 2008 Sport Trac has only 37,000 miles and no rust. I'll be 69 in April, so I'll stick with my order till the sun don't shine. Good luck!
Hold up, hold up, hold up, I get that everyone is getting impatience. Lot of us put in orders beginning when they started accepting orders, meaning Aug/Sep. The fist round had software issues so depending on your build date you may have had to wait and those of us in second round of production got right through with no problems, So first off ask your self this, what the hell do you want? If you want a Raptor then you have to get inline. Sorry that may be a bit harsh but pusue what you had set our for. Get it that it sucks to wait, i had a 5+ month wait myself and sure this is easy to spew since i just got mine a few weeks ago. I'm happy with the truck. So your choice is to run off and find something else or get what you wanted. That said put pressure on your Ford Rep and find out who the regional guy is and put some pressure there. The guy you put the order in with does just that, he's an order taker. The regional gut is who puts the order in queue. This is the one you need to get to in order to move your order along. No there's not an endless supply which is part of owning a Raptor and why they keep their value. It sucks to wait and i'm sorry that you are but exercise some patience and common sense. You wanted a truck that was rare and had high capabilities, did you think it was going to be as easy as order and it shows up 90 days later? your order is in, now forget it until it shows up because there's not much you can do. Be pissed off or let it come to you. Your choice!!!!!
Hi. I did consider the Dodge Ram 1500. Give a bit of a lift and some off road tires and flashing, it looks great, but with all the options it winds up costing about as much, so decided to just wait and order the raptor. Do not regret it. It is awesome.
