it only took 30 min for the deal to fall through . was called and told the allocation was sold to a friend of the owner. now I remember why I hate the dealer so much. no more dancing , back to square 1
Good luck brother! I'm sure most would agree with me when I say, GET THAT SHIT IN WRITING HOMIE! Even just a signed order form apparently has legal precedent.. Will
another deal broke down . called a dealer yesterday and a salesman said yes we have a golden ticket, I said sold . ok the guy that places the orders will call you tomorrow , ok . got the call from the salesman ( sorry it was already sold before I told you you could buy it .. question for everybody here , could it be I'm having a time finding one because I'm looking to order a low option truck and not a high end ( more profit ) big ticket build? I looked up and found Ford's CEO 's email and sent a polite but frank email for all the good it will do
gunnersguru I think it's that a lot of the sales people that a person gets to talk to when we call or email don't know what they can get, most if not all other vehicle that are ask for can be ordered without a issue or found on another lot, when the sales guy/gal gets to the people that have the real answers at the dealership they get informed about the Raptor and then they don't want to look like they didn't know what they were talking about so they make up some sort of excuse. Just my 2 cents and it happened to me several times. It seems the smaller dealerships don't have so many layers of people to get through to get the real answer.
let me tell you my story of a crappy dealer, deal.....I ordered on Oct 7th and I was number 2 on there list and then I was told that my order was placed and it would be built in December. Got e mail Dec 12 saying that if I dropped the Bead lock rims they would start building it. Waited till the end of Jan. and e mailed and asked about my truck. Now they are telling me that they are begging Ford for another Allocation to fill my order....WTF...I had a Allocation, what happened to it ? That was 7 days ago and no answer.
Allocations were assigned to dealerships way in advance, around the early part of 2016. Depending on the dealership's past sales of the Raptor, including regular F-150s and regional sales, a number of allocations are given per year. Seems that perhaps the dealership passed your allocation to a VIP or there was a miscommunication between you and the dealership that resulted in your allocation being passed on to the next person in line, or simply they didn't have an allocation to give and were betting Ford would give them one in hopes to make the sale with you. I was fortunate to have an honest fleet manager to work with. If you're dealing with a regular salesman then anything is possible. A lot of these guys know the demand is there and it's all about putting money in their pockets. Good luck.
I know each dealer has so many allocations and when I ordered in October I was second on the list behind the GM. either they lied or gave away my Allocation. This would have been the 4 truck that I bought from this dealer. Really surprised they way I am being treated and they won't give me a straight answer. I will just keep my 2011 F-250 and do some mods on it.
My dealer told me they have another allocation said the guy backed out because he couldn't get the carbon fiber ..its in NJ btw let me know if you want info they are charging 5 grand over msrp
