I was told by a large dealer in Texas that doesn't have a very good name on here that they were buying several raptors/allocations off of other dealers and then pricing them anywhere from 10-20K over because those small dealers don't have the market in there area. That's why I started searching dealers in small out of the way towns, I got lucky and found one on here but that's the direction I was headed. I had made the decision that if I couldn't find a 2017 at or close to MSRP that I would also ask this type of dealer if they would sell me allocation for a 2018. For all the guy's on here that have there's or have one coming at a fair price should feel very grateful. It's tough out there right now. Gdog I think you are right if ford doesn't increase production to met demand.

Gdog I was also told buy the dealer in Texas that the dealers that sell another dealer there allocation or truck that it's not good for the selling dealer because ford doesn't like that and may take away there allocation next year don't know if that is true just what I was told

Not sure about that Randy. But I do hope everyone gets a raptor at a fair price. I have been a gen 1 owner since they came out in 2010 and have been raptorized ever since. I had my name on the list at my dealership since feb 2016. I ended up #2 on the list of 30 allocations. Back when order banks opened in July those of us early build guys didn't even have hp/tq numbers on the truck yet. Information was no existent at that time. We all drooled over tidbits of info wherever we could find it and we all shared it with other early build guys. I wish everyone good luck and hopefully we can start sharing mod ideas soon! Ps. If any of you get a chance to visit the rouge plant in Dearborn where the raptors are built I highly recommend it..

OP here thanks for all the replies . I was told that if a dealer trades to another , nether dealer gets the credit , it has to be sold to a person . to answer the question , custom order or off the lot = must be custom . supercab , magnetic, 801A, with options -remote start and moonroof . I have not seen this exact combo . nothing more / nothing less . as for resale thoughts , I have owned my other truck for 12+years /190k miles so its not likely that I will sale it befor the 10 yr mark . as for the dealer 5k overprice , in 10yrs will it be worth 5k more NO . a last word my sig pic is of my truck pulling my buddys dodge to the mechanics shop ....hehehe . truck looks squatted but its -2. and leveled

Yes. We went over thanksgiving holiday. Saw my first gen 2 in person. They build them right along with the f150's.

I too was told this by a couple of dealers. One way they do it is sell it to the actual owner of the dealer. But then the vehicle shows the first real owner of the truck as the 2nd.

This is a game they play with all of the Ford specialty vehicles. Or so I've been told.

Sad, I'm not a car dealer but I run a large business and I would think if it was me I would just advertise on sites like this and sell it myself. ( of course be a supporting seller :))
    just my thoughts.

I would say you are spot on. It's also what helps the trade values on these things so much. If any of you guys traded a gen 1 as long as it has a 6.2 I have been pretty blown away at how well the value is holding. All in all these trucks are one of the best investments anyone can make when it comes to a vehicle purchase.

Actually not true, we transfer MSO's and that does not mean the vehicle was ever titled, meaning it would still be a one owner. Now if the vehicle for some odd reason was titled by a dealer improperly doing a dealer trade then that would be on them.

Yes, I know that dealers can trade without titling them. But I was told here in northern Colorado some dealers will sell them so Ford doesn't count that against their allocations next year.

I got a dealer that said he has an allocation and will sale at sticker price, I'm going to talk/ order Thursday . the dealership has a bad name and the owner is a crook . I haven't talked to them yet because I dislike them but today I called them thinking no way would they have one and at sticker. I might have to change my mind of them now . wish me luck , I'm beside myself happy .
