today I drove 2-1/2 hrs to Nashville ,IL to a dealership that has an allocation but wanted 5,000 over sticker . then drove another hour to Sunset Hills ,MO to a dealer that had none but said if they get any it would be 5,000 over as well . I have called 9 dealers with no luck , I am loosing hope . anybody got words of wisdom for me , how to talk my way into a deal. it might be German heritage or just stubbornness . I have x-plan pricing through work so if this was an f150 I could get a lot better deal.
I hope you find one at a good price, It's tough out there right now there are lots of them for 10k over,
I say either wait it out, or if you have the dough, pull the trigger. I really don't see anyone paying 5 k over losing more money on these than any other car. Probably less.
I got a guy in Ct offering list. But by the time you figure in expenses.....bite the $5k it seems to be on par.
Are you set on ordering a truck to your exacting specifications? If not you can go to the ford website and inventory search for trucks within a hundred mile radius (sorting by high to low price is neat cause it puts the Raptors at the top!)...Look for big dealers with several trucks and start calling. That never really worked for me but maybe better luck in your area! Sidenote I've encountered some "opportunistic" dealers that have bought and hoarded trucks from other dealers, ripping customers for $25k over if they can get it.
Dont lose hope. I too have been looking and calling every dealer here in FL. Worst come to worst, I will resume my search in August or September time frame and hopefully by then, the 2018 would be the talk of the town. The, Ill order my 2017.
$5K is a lot of money but it s the mere fact that I dont want to give it to the dealer who is taking advanatage of the sale. If they say, they would give $5K of the sale to a charity then, I would be more inclined of pulling the trigger. It shard for me to give money to tose who are already getting some profit. Fuck those greedy bastard dealers.
Do you think the dealers that are buying trucks from other dealers are paying invoice? Hell no the dealers who are selling to other dealers are making a profit trust me. So who do you think gets to pay additional funds from the purchasing dealers? News flash!!! The consumer it's called ADM..
Gdog, I know you love me! Most inventory swaps on these are 2500 to 5k over. Figure if a dealer wants it bad enough they will pay it.
So once dealers are out of allocations they can search wherever to find a dealer that has maybe one or two if their lucky? Then the purchasing dealer pays 2500 to 5k to the selling dealer right? Then the purchasing dealer adds their mark up on to make a fair market profit.(ADM)!As time goes on eventually dealers wil be completely out of allocations and the price will remain high or possibly increase further? What ya think john studt? True depiction ?
It does if your not paying some crazy amount over MSRP. Resale value on a raptor has never been a concern for me tho. As long as raptor have been built in limited production they will hold value. IMO these trucks will never be mass produced no matter what we,ve heard
