Well...I'm glad you found something you were looking for and I know it's cheaper than most. But I think everyone is missing my point here. This guy shows up on this forum and you guys are taking him at face value. He's not telling you the whole truth, so he can't act all holier than thou. As to my experience with buying my Raptor, I had to wait 6 MONTHS from ordering to delivery in order to get one. And when it did arrive it was only then that my dealership told me there was a "standard markup" of $10,000. I didn't pay a penny above MSRP though because the only thing they had my signature on was the order form, listed at MSRP, when I placed the order 6 months prior with a $2,500 deposit. That's how you avoid a markup. It takes patience for your allocation to get pulled, for your vehicle to be built, and for your vehicle to be delivered. If you just show up at a dealership for a truck that's already available, you're gonna get reamed. Forgive me. I'm just a long time member trying to inform others. At least that's what this forum used to be. I've been away for 3 weeks and find it's become CARMAX. Dueces.
Supporting Vendors contribute to the operation of the forum. It's paid advertising. In return they have the section on the forum where members have the OPTION to see their products. They don't hijack forums. If these dealerships want to sell their trucks on this forum, they should follow the same rules.
I dislike the dealers as much as anyone but there are guys like me on here that pre-ordered early at msrp and still got screwed...Fortunately another member hooked me up with a legit dealership and it appears things will work out in the near future. But trust me if you are out there shopping right now it is VERY difficult to land a truck at a reasonable price. Being in that position myself I see this forum as a great resource and appreciate any leads I can get, whether they come from another member or a dealer. I say let them post and if they're whack we'll call them on it.
So I agree. Problem is when you confront dealers on here it turns into a bitch fest. I agree with OCS don. We all have shared a great deal of info on this forum about our trucks from early on and would be a dam shame to have it hijacked now!!! Also agree that dealers should post on the supporting venders thread and follow the rules here,,
I'm very new to this forum and don't know all the rules, I know I'm glad I could find what I was looking for here at a fair price. I'm sorry if I offend anyone on here for finding something I was looking for. Good Luck all.
Don is 100% correct. The dealers are soiling the intentions of this forum, this isn't Carmax, or Autotrader..... That being said, has no one heard of Autotrader?? Randy?? There are tons of Raptors at MSRP now. All you have to do is look. Yes, you might have to travel, but a $300 plane ticket is a hell of a lot cheaper than a $5k mark up.
Just to be clear from my earlier post, I have spent a huge amount of time doing the search for a new Raptor. Most if not all the ad's on auto trader or anywhere for that matter are not what there asking for the truck, (Remember just because it say's it online doesn't make it true) I thought maybe I missed something and went back to auto trader site and a large amount of the dealerships on there I have contacted over the last 2 weeks and there all anywhere from 10-25K over. Just because it say's MSRP that's not there price.
Ok may I suggest we put this bullshit aside and move on with sharing info related to our trucks? I know for a fact that other members paid way over MSRP. That being said this forum was based on sharing info in regards to the raptor not a pricing tool. After market info would be greatly appreciated!!!
Many of us like the Bakflips. I had the G2 on my FX4, and now have the MX4. Trifold hard ciders that gives you access to the entire bed.
looks pretty hard core but a bit much for me.. I did the Ford in-between-rails hard cover from REV (pretty sure its made by BAK) - awesome cover so far - dry (dealer installed and they installed the drains) very secure thou u need to open the cover just an inch or so before you close the lift gate then just drop the cover and locked as long as your lift gate is locked.
