IMG_3166.PNG So got a blacked out truck. Every emblem is black IMG_3165.PNG but the big blue ford oval on the back tailgate. I felt it was an eyesore personally. So got out the ol trusty plasti dip.(I'm well aware how cheap/ghetto that sounds) Figure try it and if looks cheap just peel it off. Took about an hour total. Mainly just waiting for each coat to dry. Applied 5 coats and actually turned out great IMO. Already pressure washed it a few times and it is holding up. I posted a few pics in case anyone feels the same as me about the blue oval and wants a quick fix.

Funny I saw this just after making a plastidip comment on another post. Not sure how much you've worked with it but I've seen mixed results...In my experience it pretty much always chips and peels at some point. You're emblem looks good at the moment though! And who cares if it doesn't hold up forever, easy fix. Guys on the other forum were buying custom black emblems on ebay that looked good too if this doesn't work out.

Ya i actually ordered aftermarket matte black emblems but when they got here I thought they looked cheap compared to the factory emblem. Maybe just ordered the wrong emblems:/ Figure it was so easy to plasti dip that if it chips or peels.... just redip the emblem.

This is the emblem I ordered.. just doesn't look right on the truck. In real life the plasti dipped factory emblem looks much better and actually matches the other emblems better.

Makes sense. No doubt the one you dipped looks way better.
