Hey Beto, Welcome tot he brotherhood of 2nd Gen Raptor's What i've learned and is inline with pieces here, Ford tells the dealers there's no incentives on this specialty truck so there's no reason to sell it for less then MSRP. That said i've heard of a very few people here getting one for less then MSRP and really question the truth to that. On the flip side, dealers are fairly free to sell them for whatever they can get above the MSRP. Although I'm in Dallas i went back to my dealer in Denver and it was straight forward MSRP. No hassle, numbers matched up, i put down a deposit and signed the agreement. My truck is in and i'm heading up to get the weekend of the 4th. I've already completed all that paperwork you do at time of purchase and still all numbers were as agreed to. Now i just need to show up with a check and get my keys. The question you need to ask yourself is how much are you willing to pay over MSRP to a dealer to handle getting you what you want?
Beto, my build date was 01/07/17 and the truck was at my dealer on 01/13/17. I am in Pennsylvania, so not as far as you, but I still thought that was pretty good time. I paid $1000 under MSRP for mine. I know a lot of people on here don't believe that, but it's the absolute truth, I have no reason to make things up. Congrats on your truck.
Jay I have no reason to doubt your purchase price, you pay whatever you pay that you're comfortable with. Most people here want to give other members grief or respond with smart ass answers to legitimate questions when in fact we all are after one goal, acquiring a Gen 2, plain and simple! Everyone's journey in this whole process is different and I do realize some of the very first members who put their orders in when the ordering bank first opened have been passed up on their delivery dates by later orders which is unfortunate. That's life!!! Everyone just enjoy their trucks whenever they finally take delivery because the one common factor is everyone has said it was worth the wait. The lack of updates/communication in the whole process from FORD is a kick in the webbòs but it is what it is. People in general feel entitled for better customer service when making a big money purchase like this but in the end "the man" doesn't really care, the trucks will be purchased by the "next guy" and they know this. Desperation is a stinky cologne, so stick to your guys original build sheet and don't make any exceptions.......you've waited this long and I promise what's another 30-90 days!
Thanks Rapere1. My guy told me MSRP so I'll be at around 72k out the door when its all said and done (66k plus taxes, etc). From what I have heard, these trucks are just awesome. The first two in my area are showing up tomorrow at noon so i am going to go by and take a look. Out of respect of the future fellow Raptor owners that ordered these two, I will not drive them or sit in them as I wouldn't want anyone to do that to mine.
Lol, that's kinda funny. My truck has 5 miles on it only, i told my rep i'll be checking when i get there. On the flip side i'm getting to take an Aston Martin out for a drive (weather dependent) and will ride her super hard if there's a bunch of miles on my truck......
If my memory serves correct there was extenuating circumstances to that price. MSRP is a great price for good truck. And unless you pay 10k over I don't see anyone losing there ass on this purchase.
Any good places to do some 4wheelin in your area? Most areas I have access to are township maintained trails on Laurel Mountain - not much of a challenge. There is a local 4 Wheel Drive club (Westco Highlands) but it seems to have a closed membership. When I do get my truck, maybe we could muddy a few fenders.
Just back from the dealership. The first two raptors showed up today at noon. There was a crowd of people around them when I showed up. One avalanche grey and the other white. Both gorgeous! I have to say though the white one looked a lot better in my eyes. The color popped more especially with the black trim. I am glad I went with white and can't wait for mine to show up next month.
Redtail, there's supposed to be an awesome place out by Seven Springs, a mix of mud trail and forrest trekking, but I can't confirm that, I haven't been.
I saw a video on YouTube of a 17' raptor off deep in the woods blaizing heavy snow covered trails. I couldn't stop focusing on the audio of the tree limbs bouncing off the $70,000 truck. It blows my mind that even though the truck is capable of off reading capabilities that people subject them to this abuse. I would be willing to bet a years salary that most Raptor owners, Gen 1 or Gen 2, won't be subjecting their trucks to this kind of abuse. In all reality these trucks have so much technology and a hefty price tag to go with it that if that's what your passion is a 78' blazer covered in Line-X would give you the same results!!!! Just bring your smart phone and some ear buds to listen to your favorite music......I'm just saying
Oh no no no... haha I fully intend to do the same thing. I didn't spend 82,699 before tax to not use it!
