Picked up my Raptor today...it wasn't until I started the paperwork that I saw they had added a $5k markup. They called the dealer into the settlement office and he told me that it was a standard $10k markup for Ford Performance vehicles; however, because I had to wait so long to receive it, they were doing me a "favor" by cutting that in half. I then spent the next 10-15 minutes yelling at the manager that at no time in the last 6 months was I told about this markup. I'm happy to say that I was able to get the vehicle at MSRP because the only thing that they had my signature on was the original order form that listed the truck at MSRP when I placed my $2,500 deposit . Watch out everyone!!

Beach Ford in Virginia Beach, VA. The dealer was telling me they received more allocations than anyone else in the state, so they'll inevitably try this with someone else.

wow man, stories like this just keep on coming (myself included). as a business owner i'm amazed by an industry where customer satisfaction literally doesn't mean shit. if i treated my customers this way, i would have no customers. next order I place I will generate a document for the dealer to sign committing to msrp. good job on sticking to your guns and great looking truck, don.

Don, I appreciate you taking the time in explaining the difference of the price. Im just going to take this with a grain of salt. But I dont understand why the $5-$20K mark up. The dealer will make their money if they just sell it at MSRP. And the more a dealer sells, the more allocation they should get? Like any retailers, the more mrchandise they sell, the more they will try to get because its a seller. I dont know how allocation works if a dealer is selling Raptors left and right, they will make their money even if they just sell it at MSRP. Its when they get greedy and try to take advantage of the demand. Yes, its legal but its unethical. I dont even know why Ford company even allows this type of public extortion with their dealers. I wonder when a Ford executive wants to buy a Raptor, do they pay at invoice or with a Mark up? Maybe its time to try to get this bill pass. Make America great again and dealers of American car can never sell above MSRP so more consumers will buy American made cars. Anybody here work for the senate and congress? I think that would be a good bill to be ratified. I dont know how a dealer works.. please correct me if im mistaken.

Congrats! IM happy for you though. That was a long wait. I just got a call from this same dealer I walked out on and have the nerves to tell me they have two Raptors that came in. So I told them to not call me ever unless they sell it at MSRP. My patience is running out.
