Figured I'd post my veiw and plans on the new truck. I currently own a 2013 Tuxedo Black Screw and a 2014 Roush Oxford White Screw. I plan on grabbing a Gen2 probably around the end of 17' mainly to give me some time to check them out and see some of the reviews of people that went from a Gen1 to a Gen2. I do plan on keeping both of my Gen1's though since I've put some $$ into them and they are badass trucks which is why I could care less about what happens to the value once the new ones hit the dealerships. I'll start with my pro's on the truck. I like what they did with the interior and am looking forward to see what color options they offer. I like that they are coming stock with 3.0's but knowing how I am they will probably wind up getting upgraded to whatever comes out that seems to be better lol. I like the idea of the terrain management and hope it works as advertised. 10 speed transmission opinion will have to wait and see the real world reviews. There are some things I like on the exterior and a few things I hate. Now for the con's. Obviously the V6 wouldn't be my first choice but I'm hoping it will handle the offroad torture. I think power wise it will be fine but sound wise is what I'll probably miss the most. I don't like how the new truck doesn't look as aggressive as the original when you compare it to the regular F-150. I wish the would have accentuated the differences a bit more on the bedsides and fenders. I also don't like the single hood vent. It makes it look like Chevy's hood vents. Another con is the exhaust exiting the rear but I'll probably replace it anyway so not a big deal. All in all I'd give Ford a 6.5 out of 10 on the Gen2 for now until I can get a chance to check it out in real life.

well stated...fucking Jimbo had me look at my own response about 15 times. Pretty sure I spelled something wrong or have other grammatical mistakes - fuck him! haha! Anyhow, my favorite thing about the truck is the interior - like you said, I'd be curious as to the color options available. The 3.0s, definitely a step up but would be ripped right out in my case. I personally don't like the body lines at all, the grill seems to be a bit of a disservice in that it could have been more menacing = seems to have a smaller, less imposing footprint on the front end that the Gen1 just had. I agree, that vent is bullshit. Makes me wonder if it's a simplicity thing or if they were getting away from the Gen1 cues as much as possible. I've never liked rear exiting exhausts, not even the roush, reminds me of a lifted chevy / gmc - rather have it dumped right after the axle, but again, much like the shocks, it would probably be ripped out anyhow.

you think you're going with another screw or changing it up and going with a scab? shit, if i could have a screw and scab from each gen, equally modified it'd be sweet! my problem is, i'm so anal i'd probably mod them all the exact same way and all would have the same features as the others from the factory. only thing I *might* change is the color.

If you are going to wait till the end of the 17' run, I would just wait for the 18'. There is always room for improvement and they also did something different and/or better in the next year model on GEN1, I don't expect that to be any different.

Thanks @Jimbo It's funny @SlimChaChi I proof read my post for mistakes too because of Jimbo but that bastard still always finds something lol. Originally I was planning on getting a Scab since I already have Screw's but the more I think about it I keep wondering if I wind up making it my DD then I should get a Screw. If I decide to make it more of an offroad truck once I'm able to check it out then it will definitely be a Scab. Ever since I decided to get a Raptor I've become very indecisive sometimes and other times I just buy shit spur of the moment. Kind of like the SC and headers for my black truck. It took me 10 minutes to decide to buy them and they've been sitting on the shelf for months waiting to be installed lol. I'll probably do the same thing with the truck and make the decision as I'm sitting at the dealership putting the order in lol. I'm not exactly sure how far I want to go mod'ing the new truck yet. It's going to be interesting to see what stuff vendors come up with for them. I've been seriously considering caging and linking my white truck for awhile but I think I may hold off until I come up with a plan for the new truck. Then again who knows I originally said I wasn't going to mod my black truck at all and look what happened lol.

i saw ship that bad boy to SVC and have them work their magic! i'm indecisive too man, sometimes, spur of the moment. really depends on my mood. i haven't decided on the gen2 yet. i think i want to see it modded with LT, bypass racks etc, bumpers, lights, wheels etc. Then I can make a call. I liked the look of the Gen1 stock and even more so modded. The Gen 2 stock i'm kind of indifferent towards, though some shots make it look real appealing, especially in black.

I think I will go with a SCAB this time around myself. I was thinking '19 or '20 though as my truck will only be a few years old when the '17 comes out and I'm not going to buy a new one so soon.

With the '19 or '20 we will probably see a small "refresh" on options/upgrades similar to the '12/'13 Raptors.

I'm not a big fan of getting the first year of a new generation car, regardless of manuf. I had a 2011 SCREW and had the advantage of the larger stock engine etc. I'm excited for 2017 but you know there's gonna be engineering kinks.

I had a platinum SCREW the first year that the EB came out. I was pretty happy with it other than the slight lag when gassing it sometimes, so I'm not opposed to a new gen. The family's entire fleet is black though, so I'm hoping that the avalanche grey is going to look nice (just to change things up). It's hard to get an accurate gauge though. Every pic I see in avalanche grey looks different depending upon the lighting.
