i'm sure the gen1 v gen2 discussions will never end, but as long as they're informative and insightful, i have no issues with them. bashing happens everywhere, my only issue was those bashing the gen1 a. own one, or b. have any factual information on gen2. i'm sure once more info comes out, i'll be here just as much as i am over on frf. raptor is a raptor, it's going to be fun to events and see the OG and new breed.
So do you think once the 2nd gen is officially out and has had time to be in owners hands, that the shit show between 1st gen owners and 2nd gen owners will stop? If so, I think you maybe right, but I don't think it will happen over night. Could take awhile.
I think so. The biggest issue was Ford talking points/info being limited, and then assumptions being made without physical proof. But, at the same time, I hope this site takes off and you can have a successful blend of two sites, each catering towards a different end result.
i would honestly hope it stopped, fun banter here and there is expected, but hopefully the shit show dies down. i expect there to be more of a healthy debate once they're out and in owners hands. i think the mistake made was some of the bashing of the gen 1 by gen 2 guys. can't really bash something you don't own and can't praise something you know very little about. and that goes both ways honestly...gen 1 guys bashed the gen 2 without knowing much about it...myself included.
True, but it goes the other way to, the 1st gen owners can't bash the 2nd gen trucks when they know little about them. It goes both ways. It will stop for sure, but could take awhile.
oh yea, i agree, and i edited my post shortly there after because i sounded like a dick not taking any blame. can't put all the blame on the gen2 guys...it's been equal opportunity bashing all around. i give it a year from release before things die down.
No worries, I wouldn't have been offended. I look forward on seeing where this site goes if it takes off when the 2nd gen trucks come out. If FRF still dominates the landscape and this place doesn't take off, it was worth the shot. Honestly, I feel that many users love the specific gen forums rather then the massive all in ones, but we will see.
i think it will take off...everything takes time and it looks like more gen1 guys are coming over. even if just to get an idea of what can be expected from gen 2, it'll be worth it. sometimes all that noise gets in the way and you get nothing but static out of some of the discussions being had on frf.
This new site has already taken off. I don't think it'll be going anywhere. It seems like it has more traffic than the ecobbost forum and the trucks can't even be ordered yet.
i think that other site alienated gen 1 guys, or tried to anyhow...that was what the trolling was mostly about (well, maybe haha)....this site seems to be embracing both owners, though specifically geared towards gen 2, seems to already be more informative in nature.
It also helps that we are able to advertise this forum on the biggest Raptor forum, biggest FB group and biggest Ford Raptor FB page.
Yep. The crazy thing is that FRF started over a year after RZ was created and FRF just took over. @BIRDMAN and staff did a great job getting it going. Love seeing it start from 0 posts to where it is today. Hope to be saying the same thing with FR2 a few years from now.
