Wow, seems like there are a lot of 50ish Birthday presents on here. That's what mine is for... will be 50 later next year. I am an Investment Advisor with my own firm. Have always had some sort of sports car and this will be my first truck so very excited. Usually get my way with wife (she gives up within a week if I just keep talking about it... no kids). One catch, had to upgrade my wife's SUV, so I traded in one of my cars for her next one (I'm driving it until the Raptor comes in so she can just sit there and wait with me). Once Raptor is here, I get my truck, she gets her new SUV, and I'll let her reward me with a less than average sexual performance!!! Actually, she is a beauty (don't know how I lucked out). So in the end I will have a trophy truck to go with my trophy wife... and to all a good night.

Dont confuse my words or intentions. Im very humble and thankful to be given something like this and in no way wish to boast or come off as a brat. Thats why I'm giving all i got in school to be able to give him what he gave me one day man.

I am a 42 yo firefighter in CA. I worked 75 overtime shifts this year to buy a Raptor. I have a 2 year old daughter who MIGHT get to drive it in 14 years. I am giving up my 2004 Chevy Avalance with 250K miles on it. I plan to drive my Raptor for 15 years and guess my next car will be a sub compact auto driver produced by google. Might as well go out with a bang. My wife can't wait for a ride.

im a nobody. got a degree as a EE and found out engineering pay sucks so i bought a piece of oil field equipment at 24 for $6000 and today i have oil rigs and such. right now im poor and some years its a boom and im fine. but in the end i live paycheck to paycheck like everyone else. mostly i get death threats and am told im a bad guy cuz ive shot elephants and leopards and all sorts of deer n elk. i freaking love to hunt and the raptor is the only thing that can handle what i do. im 38 now and i just enjoy my kids and the outdoors.

I'm 62. Grew up in a Ford dealership. Other than a few early years on a farm/ranch I've always been associated with Ford stores. I now own a RV/Truck dealership. My brother is a Ford dealer. Ive owned every year of Raptor since thay came out and I'm really looking forward to my Gen2 which should be here next week. My wife and I kayak a lot and have several kayaking trips planned around the US this spring.

I just a e mail from my dealer ( Ashland, OR ) that the bead lock rims are on back hold, that's why they haven't built it. Ford will start building it if I take the stock rims. I hate the stock rims.....I guess I could get after market rims.

    Need your thoughts.

    Dan,
Thanks for sharing all of the info. It would be interesting to know what the actual problem was with the trans.

As far as shipping overseas, ya it takes a damn long time. It's not as simple as point to point. Those big cargo ships only do something like 25-30 knots. I moved back to the US from Warsaw Poland (don't even ask how i got that short stick) and it was 7 weeks port to port. Think about it, Dearborn to a port, multi stops, get it through the canal, probably another stop or two and then it's to China. If they left the plant in November then it's not likely they gotten there yet. It is a bit funny that they shipped trucks with a problem but as we don't know the problem maybe it's not impact to that market and or they fix there before release.

I'm in the same boat. I'm 99% sure that I'm going to wait it out until the beadlocks are available again. Maybe this is a blessing as it will give added time for any transmission issues to be resolved as well as giving the winter salt time to pass. I guess my order will just continue to sit in queue until that time.

I can't stand the thought of buying a truck this expensive, custom ordering all the options and color, only to settle for a wheel that I strongly dislike. The irony is that I love the dark gray base wheel that were present on early 2017 Raptor prototypes. I suspect that Ford ran out of beadlocks due to a spike in demand caused by the underwhelming appearance of the machined base wheels. I wish these were the base wheels:

    Dan,
Can you try to get some info regarding the beadlock wheel hold? This has me bummed out.

Those early rims are just Magnetic paint... I like them too but ok with stock. Stock rims still have the Magnetic pockets, so just the bright alloy on face.

I originally had the bead lock capable ordered and then changed them to the cast, standard wheels. The more I looked at them, the more I kinda liked them. (A lot like the Gen1 wheels.) Besides, I felt for an extra $1150, I could buy some aftermarket wheels I liked much better, sell the stock wheel and still be ahead of the game.
