I'm sure there's a way to turn up the trq volume, just give it a little time for the tuner chips to come out. Hopefully that will also remove the governor too!!!!!!

Spoken at length with various dealers and trundled through endless internet information.
Have a good friend at Ford who says if they get the new 5.0 V8 Eco boost re-programmed and torque settings right for the Raptor platform then they are intending to release in 2018 model year. However as well as the V6 Eco boost NOT instead of! However nothing confirmed only an option. Then there would be a two model line up. However you could only imagine what the potential price would be? Going on the release of the 2017 it may take a lot longer!

Don't do it unless you intend to tow something very large, though the ride might be nice on pavement the ride off road will suck. I currently drive a 2000 Yukon XL 2500. Though I enjoy the heaver suspension for a reliability stand point the rough ride gets old, I live on a Michigan dirt back road and they often get full of quite large pot holes, while my wife's 1/2 ton Tahoe glides right over them my 3/4 Yukon slams through them and will put you sideways in a heart beat if your not careful. Can't wait to run about 55 down thru them with the Raptor. And oh yes a 3/4 ton in the sand dunes no fun.

I swore I was not going to fall for this "clickbait" of a post but there is no god damn way that Ford would be putting a TT 5.0 in a raptor.

Lets think about the big picture, everything from re-tooling at the dearborn plant to giving up on a 8 year project, to the shear cost that the customer would have to pay for it and you have to account for the loss of raptor customer base because ford just shit on everyone with the Gen2.1.

I just shelled out 83,000 plus taxes, mind you those are Canadian Peso's I'm talking about but still could you imagine having an engine choice and bumping that up another 6k, over 100K with tax.

Who in here would be pissed if Ford did offer a v8 next year? I think it might piss me off a little but then would get over it. I think the v6 twin turbo should be plenty fun but still Fords going to piss off many of there customers who are buying a 17. Really hope they don't do that

While I will be pissed if Ford offers a V-8 EB in a 2018 Raptor, I don't think it's going to happen. I just don't think we'll see Ford backtrack like that. Is there a new Lightening model on the horizon? If you told me that it would make a lot more sense. A truck lower to the ground that is set up for the street, that could handle that power. If I'm wrong and Ford does offer a V-8 EB, I don't think it's going to be tuned from the factory to produce that much more power than the current motor. Personally, I don't plan on modifying my engine one bit because I value reliability far more than a little more speed.

I'm on my second ecoboost truck, and while I miss my 14' Raptor, the stock 6.2 was a dog compared the to EB in my platinum. Sport mode with the EB blows away the acceleration of my old 6.2. The HO EB is only going to be that much more fun to drive. Of course I do miss the growl of the 6.2, but it had to sound cool because it sure wasn't quick. I would often have people comment about how fast my Raptor must be, and I would just smile, laugh a little inside, and not say a word.

Of course this is just my opinion, and we all know what an opinion is worth.

Agreed. 510 and a quick tune will have these trucks putting out more hp and trq than most people will ever need.
