Yes, this IS an issue. Do your research before buying. The other site has a ton of first-hand experience with this failure, the multiple TSBs, SSMs, and discussion of the part number changes. This is a definite issue that will affect all at some point. Really dig into it and see for yourself.

Ford 5.4 v8 also had same issues.
After market products aavailable to lockout the phasers to eliminate the issue on the 5.4.
So far, have not found anything similar for the 3.5, maybe not possible, but would be interesting to know if it was an option.

Yes, the 5.4 has the phaser issues, so is the 5.0 and 3.5 its a common ford truck issue not just specific for Raptor..
Not every single one has the problem but yes there are many this once again leads to the maintenance question.

I have been doing amsoil signature series 5W30 and ford performance 820 filter on my 2018, production date 2018 May, just after production resumed in dearborn following the eaton plant fire.
I change oil when oil life monitor says 50%, I also have a 2010 5.4L and has 367,000 kms on it, oil changes done regularly with mobil 1 and amsoil synthetic 5W30 in summer and 0W30 in winter instead of the ford specified 5W20 regular oil. No issues on it.

This - what you call a non-issue - is showing a 30% failure rate on the other site. Many who had voted no problem are now having to go back and change to having the issue. Ford had $5B in warranty cost. Way over budget, and much higher than any other manufacturer. Ford knows there is an issue, and that is why they updated the cams to a CD suffix. However, these parts ARE STILL failing.
Food for thought. Ford has fought this cold start rattle for years, across the 3.5 ecoboost engines. This is not a new problem. Ford cannot seem to figure it out, and no aftermarket company has made cam lockouts for it.
The 2021 order guide does not call this engine out, so hopefully they won't use it ever again. Your 21+ raptors look to be 5.0L engines as the 3.5 hybrid is already set for Limited/Platinum trucks.

18' noise progressively worse from 40k until rattled at every 3-4 hr cold soak... After getting tired of cringing at every start, I had a very talented Ford tech replace all four under Powertrain Warranty at 49k miles... even though I still hold my breath, no noise to be heard after a couple weeks. Glad I got it done...

I guess this going to to be part of the maintenance costs of owning a high performance vehicle.... I have been down this road in past with BMW and the valley gasket failure in there V8 engines, and if you own a Porsche - "IMS" bearings failures was standard for many years & not covered under warranty. I wonder how the guys buying the 1/2 million dollar Ford GT are going to feel about this problem, as the basic engine is same as Raptor...,.

If you look at the 6.2 Raptor, it doesn't have any maintenance costs for a high performance vehicle.
