I am looking to do some performance additions to my Raptor and am leaning toward the Hennessey 600 kit but have started looking around before I take the truck to their shop. it is just so expensive compared to the Whipple stage 1 kit and similar packages like the Mountunes MRX 600 kit. The Whipple and Mountunes kits seem to almost add as much hp/torque as the Hennessey for so much less. I have called some of the companies that sell the kits and really didn't feel like they knew what they were talking about as I asked questions. I probably got a call center but it sure didn't help me as I contemplate what to add.

I just want a reasonable amount of additional power....not racing or hard off roading but to make it more fun to drive by being faster off the line and 0-80..,..mostly on road with some offroad. Does anyone on here have experience with the various performance packages and can say which of them they would reccomend as an alternative to the Hennessey and why(price differential and time for install are the reasons I am initially looking at possible alternatives to the Hennessey). As an aside, Hennessey has already done something for me and were great to work with. Probably would have already done the upgrade but I don't feel like being without my truck right now for at least 3 weeks for the install.

    Thanks for any feedback!!

everyone is doing the same thing and they all make about the same power. Intercooler and tune are all you really need. Install should take no more than 5 hours. I am biased becuase we engineered F150 EcoBoost intercoolers in 2012, which most every company has since copied.

i recommend Full Race Intercooler, Intake, Radiator, Trans cooler, SCT tune. a competent mechanic should have zero difficulty installing these in 1 day

I put a COBB Stage II kit on my truck, with a Corsa exhaust and turbo spacers. Fastest damn truck I ever owned. Also, R1 Concepts big brakes, and forged 20" rims with 33" KO2's. With all the extra power (about 600HP) it feels like I'm driving my wifes 4Runner much more than it feels like that Tundra I drove. It's so light, and when I put the hammer down the front lifts. It's very, very nice, and the COBB product has been rock solid for me.

Some asswipe pulled in front of me a few weeks back and caused a major collision. The whole of the left and right side front end had to be repaired, but the COBB intercooler and associated parts came out just fine. I don't know what this means other than they are built as tough as this truck is.

Best of luck to you on your decision making!

Don't waste your money on the air intake or inter cooler unless you are going to be running it hard in the hot desert. Just get a tune and oil catch can. You can all ways add that stuff later if you want to. They don't really add any more hp or tq. If you're worried about warranty get a piggy back tune that will improve performance, Hp, tq, and response. You can remove it and I've been told Ford can't trace it. I think the reprogram tunes provide more hp and tq then the piggy back tuners. I could be wrong, but I really don't care because I am really happy with the 93-MPT tune with N-gauge loader. WOW! completely different truck. I thought it was quick before, but now it's fast and responsive. Throttle response is instant and shifts are way smoother then stock, snappy but not jerky, in sport and standard mode. I've heard others say the same things about other tunes. I don't know about them. I've been running mine as a daily for over a year now and have had no issues. I've even towed my car with it. I did take it into ford for a recall and I reprogrammed it stock even thought I been told they can track the reprogramming. Driving it stock for a week sucked. Seriously, if I couldn't put the program back in I would would have sold the truck. I put the program back in and wow! It literally takes my breath away when I floor it from a stop. I literally hold my breath until I lift. I don't know why it's like that, I also have a 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca and a turbo dresser and I don't get that same feeling when I stomp on them. Don't get me wrong the Boss will burn the wheels off and fish tail all the way through 3rd. It's just different. I haven't done exhaust either. If you look it up the exhaust mods don't provide much hp or tq increase for the amount of money you spend, but some do sound better.

Buy an extended warranty. That is your best spend as you will need it.

If you're looking for a easy way to add some power without messing with the truck's ECU (and warranty), we highly recommend the DTE Boost Module. This thing plugs in under the hood and is good for 50+HP. It's bluetooth enabled so you can adjust the power settings from your phone. If you have a fussy dealer, it removes/installs in about 30 minutes and does not leave a footprint on the ECU like a full tune will. We ran these units on one our shop trucks for a year and a half now without a single issue of error code.

If you're looking for really big gains, we spent months upon months and thousands of miles worth of real world testing to develop the ORA550 performance package. It's a complete tune that utilizes auto octane sensing, full transmission tune and increases the throttle lag. The complete package is an SCT tuner, Ford Performance spark plugs, a Cobb intake and a Cobb Intercooler. Numerous dyno charts have yielded 550HP and as much torque. Are there higher horsepower tunes out there? Absolutely. We did not develop this to yield the highest power, but to be a substantial increase at very safe levels. No premature engine failures, no excessive boost, no E85 fuel. Just great power and torque all done safely.

And throw on a set of AMS Boost tubes, and you're looking at a 2-5HP and 20TQ gains without a tune and with a tune, 20HP/20TQ.

He should buy a shovel, dig a hole, and lay down in it.

You all will find out the 3.5 ecoboost nightmare eventually. This is a leading contributor for the $5B overrun on warranty for Ford. They are so bad that they went to a COO (Farley) to figure out how to fix. He said warranty is out of control and they have a get well plan for fixing engineering design.
