Whats going on guys, first post here but been on LS1tech and CTSVowners for years. Been looking into getting a gen 2 raptor and just wanted to pass along a dealer I came by that looks like I maybe buying from. Names Court Street Ford in Bourbonnais, IL. 888-658-6832. They said they would do MSRP on the raptor. So far they've been awesome to deal with. So if theres any IL guys looking to buy a raptor just figured i'd pass along the info. FYI I have no affiliation with the dealer, I just talked to the sales manager, names Jon Strand, not sure what he's willing to do for other people but figured i'd pass along the info so someone local doesn't get screwed paying thousands of dollars more.

Sounds like you had good experience, myself not so much. As follows:

Had contacted three dealers in VT area about 2017 Raptor in early June. Gateway Motors, West Lebanon, John C Stewart and Sons, Cuttingsville, Formula Ford, Rutland. Knowing that ordering would be in July timeframe. My understanding from Ford Press releases and general statements that the Raptor would be available to order from anyone who would want one. Requested all three dealers to contact me when order forms and pricing were available.

Did not here from any on 07/18 so I sent three follow up emails on 07/19 with my requested build out with the price list MSRP prices.

Gateway Motors responded on 07/20 with statement “We have 1 allocated with 7 people on list and our GM wants 5,000. Over MSRP” Told salesman that I would not pay over list and he said he wouldn’t either. Conversation left with since this is a want not a need we would connect back in DEC-JAN timeframe to see if situation has changed.

John C Stewart & Sons responded and stated “ We checked with our Rep and he did not come out exactly say it but indicated that since we had never sold one that essentially we had zero chance of getting one allocated” Conversation left with if things change they would get back to me but we would connect back in Dec-Jan timeframe.

Formula Ford responded and stated. “At this point we have allocation (and deposits) for TWO SVT Raptors. This fills our current allocation. We can apply for additional allocation one we have delivered the first of them. As I am sure you know these trucks are in limited supply. This is done because several dealers have previously ordered them as sold but in reality they were not sold yet. .” Email was rather curt without any indication of future contact. Note: when first contacted Formula ford Sales Person ( Dave Chapman) back in June his attitude was he was acting like he was doing me a favor by talking to me.

So at this point I would like to know Ford’s approach on sales of the 2017 Raptors. Are they on dealer allocation? Can they be ordered if a dealer does not have an allocation? If this is the case would the order be ever fulfilled?

Ford had indicated that these would not be on limited run. I have no issue with ordering and waiting, as long as reasonable time frame (12-14 weeks).

This experience is leaving a rather bad taste for Ford Sales approach and some of their dealer sales tactics.

I think this is truly a case of the dealers not knowing when it comes to availability (allocation versus customer pre-order). Same is true of pricing. I stopped by the local dealership where I purchased my previous truck (unfortunately not a Raptor) and spent a good amount of time discussing what they knew of the process with the salesman that I've known pretty well since that purchase. They did not get the 2017 order sheets or the pricing information until AFTER I let them know it was available on these forums. I really think they're operating in the dark, not because they want to, but because someone at Ford hasn't done nearly as good of a job communicating with their dealers as they've done communicating to the community via auto shows, etc. Hopefully that will begin to change in the days ahead.

    Congrats on confirmation

I am still talking to several dealerships that aren't charging premiums to help them find order guide and get into system . They seem not to know it's available as others have stated

Ford isn't talking, which is dumb as they need to keep their dealers in the loop at least.

The dealers have the info, they just don't know where to find it in their system. There are two different ways for them to access the order info, it isn't fucking rocket science. And this allocation word gets thrown around like Hillarys dismembered head should be.

isn't that what it's called though? every dealer i've spoken to for the prior gen and the recent RS said the same thing, allocation...over and over again. allocation will guarantee them 1, 2 etc, whatever they are allocated. they can order beyond that but no guarantee. or am i not understanding it correctly?

Hi Jamin55 - just read your post from late July. I agree that this has been a bit of a frustrating process, at least for most of us. I too contacted J.C. Stewart and Formula Ford in Rutland. So just wanted to add my experiences. I contacted both these dealers in early March 2016. J.C. Stewart did not come right out and say it but given the fact that they only sell 4 or 5 vehicles a month - that puts them very low on the list to get any limited availability vehicles. I asked the salesman if he thought they would get any allocation or even if they had sold very many of the 2010 - 2014 Raptors? His answer made it clear to me that it was very unlikely they would see a 2017 Raptor and even if they did it would be well into 2017. That was a shame as I have a Ford Edge Sport and have been doing my services there and they are a very friendly (family owned) dealer and a pleasure to work with. Anyway - on to Formula Ford Rutland. I sent them an email also early to mid MARCH 2016. The internet sales rep responded quickly that she would get any info available and call me. A few days later we where on the phone talking Raptor. She suggested I come in and speak to Mike the manager. When i met Mike a few days later he was able to tell me that he was "pretty sure" they would be getting 2 or maybe 3 Raptors and he already had 1 person on the list. After a hand shake I was then the #2 person on the list. Then maybe 2 months later - call it early May - they asked me to come in and confirm my interest and give them a $500 deposit. At that time they new for sure they would get 2 Raptors and they had several other people on the list behind me. Just last week I went back to sit with Mike and put my order in the system - MSRP - no upcharge. Certainly not a perfect process but..... Hope you found another dealer in the meantime.
