I would like to have a good wrap place by me that doesn't rape me. So friggin' expensive. I asked for a price for doing my Chevelle and they said 6K! Shit, they'd want 8k to do the Raptor. And the place is 2 hours away in Nassau County.

Its very time consuming - when i had my Raptor front end (full hood, lights and front quarter panels) The guy did it in my garage. It took several hours. Granted the hood really is the hardest part but when you wrap with a color other than clear it needs to be perfect. You need to wrap the inside edges, remove the fender guards and make sure every line is perfect. My front end was 2500 and that is from a friend who has done 4 of my cars. Now part of that is XPEL Ultimate is expensive, I dont know if color wraps are as much because you dont need the perfect clarity that you need with clear. Anyway around 6k sounds right but not 8k !!

I'm so happy with the way the wrap turned out!! The guys at Glisten Detailing here in the twin cities area did a fantastic job with it. Believe me, it looks even better in person.

The film is STEK DYNOmatt. Which is actually a matte clear bra. So it's providing clear bra protection while also improving the look. But it's not a colored wrap. The film also comes with hydrophobic and self healing properties. I can say the hydrophobic side of it works great! Took it off-roading and the wash afterwards was a breeze! So a separate ceramic coating (which is also pricey) isn't necessary. Can't yet speak to the self healing of it though; haven't tested that yet. From what I can tell, this film is relatively new to the market and on the pricier end of the range.

And VT Raptor is definitely right; it's a lot of work. A lot of body panels came off so that they could really wrap the film over all the edges if possible. Almost no "pre-cut/printed" film shapes were used.

Price came out to about $7,000. Which I agree, is up there. But with what the product is providing (protection in general and ease of mind while off roading, easy washes, awesome aesthetics, etc), how well the work was actually done, and the relationship with the shop, it's been well worth it in my opinion. Even with a couple trouble spots that needed redoing a week in, the guys at the shop were super quick to take care of it and very nice about it. Somehow that experience made me trust and like the shop even more.

Overall, I'm super pumped with the end result! Can't wait to get some more dirt and mud on it :)
