Hey everyone! Super close to pulling the trigger on a new Raptor. I was just curious if anyone has first hand experience owning one in Minneapolis, MN. This would be my only vehicle, daily driver, commute into downtown, weekend adventuring - There's so much to explore around here! Most important first: - How does it do downtown and most parking garages around here? (height seems fine, but width?) - How does it do in the winter? - What are the off-road opportunities like around here? New to it but getting into it. Thanks for any info and help you can provide! Super excited if this works out.
not from mn but from ohio where we deal with alot of snow im a salesman and we have drove them around like they are nothing in the snow although they are wider for the parking in my opinion the truck will make up for that just in the fun you will have in it on and off the road
I actually went to the dealership and they let me borrow a 2019 Screw for a morning. I was able to drive it around my regular commute and park it in the structures I use most often. It fit just fine everywhere I needed it to! So now I'm waiting for delivery of a 2019 Magnetic Grey SuperCrew with my name on it!! Hopefully I'll be posting my intro and pictures to the New Member Check-In within the month!
I had a 2012 Raptor for years and drove it downtown everyday. There are a couple garages that it doesn't fit, but mostly it works fine. I loved it. There is an off road park north of the cities a couple hours, I don't remember the name. Unless you have a friend with a farm, eh. Great in the winter too. Like most trucks, just make sure you put some weight in the back of bed to give yourself more traction. ...but with all of that, who cares... you would have a Raptor!
Those sound like wise words at the end there! Thanks for the info. Can't wait to finally get it. Delivery was first delayed due to snow storms. Now the flooding has it stuck in the rail car here in MN! So close but yet so far.
I should definitely try to get up to Iron Range OHV Park. I've heard it's pretty awesome. But I hadn't heard if it was good for Raptors or not. Also, since I'm back here now and to wrap this post up: I did get the truck a couple months ago and it's been amazing! Loving it. Don't know if you'd be interested or not, but I work for BILSTEIN Shock Absorbers in Hamilton, OH, and we are looking for a Raptor for a ride with a potential OEM customers (comparing the stock suspension to a Raptor upgraded with our shocks on it). We currently have a BILSTEIN Raptor, but are looking to borrow one for a day (Sept. 18) that has stock shocks on it. In exchange for letting us use it, we would be happy to gift you a set of BILSTEIN shocks as a thank you. If you would be interested, please email me at [email protected].
