I end up looking at old raptors because of the lack of 2017 information and really like the dovetailed look. Does anyone know if the dark gray pieces behind the rear fender on the 2017 is actually plastic or just a plastic cover? Either way, it looks like the ford designers were trying to apply the dovetailed look and that plastic could lead to an easy aftermarket option (well, easier than cutting the bed) to end up with dovetail on the 2017.
Thanks for the pic. Definitely too straight, but by choosing a non-painted finish it gives the rear a different look. Might be a more pronounced effect on lighter colors. If you know, what is under that piece of plastic? Thinking that if it is removed, may not need to cut, or cut as much, to go true dovetail.
From the new video, it looks like the piece can be removed. You guys may want to check that out for aftermarket potential. Could be a cool dovetail style wraparound bumper. Just give me a sweet discount for the idea!
Also looks like the front bumper ends can be removed. Would be interesting to see aftermarket replacement options.
There will be lots who will replace the rear bumper and dove tail and cut the exhaust tips off, all in good time.
