So 2 months ago that stupid auto stop start feature stopped working (blessing in disguise) and the maintenance light came on. I went to the dealer and they said in order to replace the broken part, they had take the trans out. Ok.
A week after I get it back, I am driving on the highway and it starts shifting really roughly. Trans temp started going way up and I saw smoke in the mirror. It was spitting out trans fluid under the truck.
I had it towed to the dealer and they fixed it right away.
2 months to the day later, it just happened again, ironically at the exact same spot on the highway and getting towed from the same location again.
I have no idea what the dealer fixed and why it happened.
Any ideas what would cause this? Mechanic screwing up? Maybe they dropped the transmission when they took it out and something bent?
    I’m just guessing here...

Sounds like your dealer doesn't know what they are doing. So the auto stop stopped working and you took it in for that?

Yeah I am kind of kicking myself in the ass for this. But I didn’t want to have a brand new truck with the maintenance light constantly going on. I later disabled the auto start stop with the jumper in the switch. No big deal.
As for the trans, I agree, the dealer is starting to see like idiots.
