Just took my truck in for the 4th time to the dealership related to the sunroof. The 3rd time the entire sunroof was replaced due to it not closing properly and rattling at low speeds. Once again it gets stuck open and the cover will not close completely. Though I’d start this thread just in case others have had similar trouble

For sure the rattling has started in mine, dreading for sure. No leaks or problems closing or stuck yet. 21k. What SS brake lines did you go with, motocraft plugs or something diff.

Haven't had rattling but a few weeks back my sunroof wouldn't shut - sliding glass was not aligned properly on the track. I was able to muscle it shut but haven't had the opportunity to troubleshoot so I've just left it shut. Since I get my truck (really) dirty on a semi-regular basis I was thinking de-gunking and re-lubing might solve my problem...But 3 replacements? Uh-oh. Has the dealer given you any specific explanation on the issue?

Is anyone else supremely frustrated and disappointed with the quality of the 2018 Raptor? Not much we can do about it but seriously, Ford, get your act together!

What quality, other than some rattles and sunroof issues, are you referring to ?

Yes they are, never had a problem but with a big heavy truck and moon roof double panel it was bound to happen. None on my next buy.

Just had this very discussion with Ford, I asked for a replacement truck with no roof. Truth be told I love the truck and the roof, but when it goes to open, it moves a little, the front pane drops and gets caught (I think against the rear pane) and simply stops. The have replaced tracks, re-lubricated and not in the last visit they had to replace the shade. The new shade makes noise too, but its a new and different noise. according to the dealer, there was a bulletin on what lube to use and such. The roof is now as quiet as a mouse. To be honest, I hope it breaks again, as I am one more service appt from getting a replacement.

This launch has been plagued with engine, transmission, and now non-powertrain failures. The sunroof has always been an issue avroac f150, but the engine and transmission issues are unacceptable. This was why owners were pushing for any other engine/trans combo for this truck. Anything would be more reliable.
If you read the forums and talk to owners, you will see these trucks dropping like flies. Ford acknowledged there is yet another cam phaser failure issue... Redesigning again!

Be careful doing a self alignment on these roofs as they are very fragile. The issue is always the tracking mechanism. It affects both the glass and shade closures. I am completely on board over this transmission. It hesitates between 4th and 5th gear on an irregular basis. Dealership is calling this normal. I am going to start a thread related to the crankcase sensor as mine has now been replaced twice. I can tell you MY Gen 1 truck had to have a catalytic converter changed. These other problems I'm experiencing with the Gen 2 didn't exist. Just missed seeing the Raptor Ranger unveiling in Thailand. Really hoping the tried and true testing successes they've had in Australia hold true to the truck that is going to be introduced into the US market later this year.

I do not agree, some but not all owners. Have 22k trucks built in 2017 and who knows what numbers for 18. Bring me your cam phaser issues and numbers of complete transmission or engine failures. I agree its some but the percentage is much lower than you have people beleive.

Cam phaser failures are high enough that Ford is having to redesign them... That tells you there is an issue there. Ford is buying trucks back at an alarming rate, and the amount of deep engine and transmission issues is disturbing. It is a terribly designed pairing.

Yah you’re right. I should expect much less for a $70K truck. Seriously man?
