Has anyone taken their truck in for the transmission recall yet? I have an appointment for a fix today and wanted to check how long it would take and if its a difficult fix?

    Thanks

Interesting, i'm not seeing my truck due for Trans recall so it may be a limited service recall. Interested in knowing for what specifically. If it's just a software update then i would think they'd just do a software push remotely and be done with it. If you have to physically take your truck in then there'd be a hardware issue that needs to be swapped out.

Keep us posted on what you find out......

Its not really a transmission recall, it is a linkage issue where the clip may come loose if not installed correctly. I took mine in for it and it took about 30 minutes to check as they have to take the skid plate off to get to it.

Just dropped my truck off for the recall. It's a 20 mins inspection and no parts are needed just an adjustment. Fingers crossed

Did my first oil change and tire rotation plus the recall... Everything took about 30-40 minutes

Same here...took it in and it took them about 30 minutes to see if my transmission had the clip issue. I was told by the advisor that even if my truck did have an incorrectly seated clip then it would take only a short time to fix that. Mine fortunately was fine.

My sources tell me this could be a limited recall that is related to blocks of production at the Dearborn plant.

Sorry for the late reply guys, apparently ford recalled about 350,000 cars and trucks with the 10 speed transmission. Apparently a belt or clip of some sort can slip out of place causing the vehicle to roll while parked.. Got mine checked out and about 30-45 minutes later they were done with the inspection and no issues. One of the employees later told me most of the vehicles they've seen did not have any issues and was more of a precautionary measure.

I think there are two recalls. My 2017 had a recall to replace a spring pin in the internal tranny linkage, told the tranny pan was dropped to access it.

My dealer said they inspected over 300 trucks and not one had a problem with belt clip. I guess I was 301 in about 10 minutes

Yeah I saw the recall notice on the news. I just reached out to the Ford Dealership and asked if my truck had a recall on it. They looked it up and said no. So it’s not for all the 10 speed transmissions. Just some. There should be a place online to look it up with your Vin I would think.
