Post new photos of the Gen 2 Raptor here! Pulled this photo off Greg Foutz FB at the Mint 400 parade.
I don't normally like graphics packages, but would actually pay money if Ford offered this one. I would actually pay money for this exact setup; lights, springs and all.
I like how far forward they've extended the running boards. Should kick down some of the rocks and crap.
Photos by user Raptar on FRF. Tailpipes - they are HUGE in person! Pics are very deceiving, but look at the 2-1/2" receiver hitch for comparison. The tailpipes have got to be at least 4" diameter, if not 4.5". They look really good Fender flares look like they're slightly lower profile than ours. Fender bulges appear larger though, where ours more gradually sweep out, the gen 2's are almost like the older flareside beds where they grow out fast. I like it!
Photos by user Raptar on FRF. Paint to match door handles! No more shitty black plastic! And keyless/touch handle lock/unlock! F'in sweet! Keyless entry pad on the pillar. Cleaner look, but still physical buttons (not sure if anyone has an explorer with the touch pad keyless entry, it f'ing blows!) Do you see what I see? A slot next to the cupholders between the shifter for holding a phone. NICE! Interesting how the side bumper steps up under the headlight, unlike our truck where the bumper stays straight across and beneath the headlight is body panel. More blue = cool, stands out more. More stickers & logos = little too busy. I like the simple clean look of the gen 1 shocks with just fox sticker on the body, and SVT engraved in the cup It almost looks like the sides of the bumpers under the headlights would unbolt, may look cool with the "bumperettes" off and really opening up the front face of the tire lol I think a hood graphic would really make this truck go from kind of plane looking, to have that iconic raptor pop vs looking a little bare Same from this angle, a bedside graphic I think would really make the truck pop Not only is this plastic piece new behind the tire on the bed to help with rock chips, the lower outer edge of the rear fender flares are flared out to help block a little more crap from making it past the fender well Again, the shocks are starting to look busy with stickers for my tastes over the simplistic fox decal & SVT engraving. They do look coated with some silver coating though, instead of just being aluminum bodies, which may be a good thing since most gen 1's with stock shocks all have crusty oxidation now on the shocks which looks like doodoo The avalanche gray is very hard to photo, it looks more white in pics, more gray in person. It looks very wet too with it being non-metallic. I'd probably get this color if they still have it by the time I get a gen 2 in 18/19. The superduty is a pearl white metallic, so you can get a feel for the difference in colors a little bit.
I wonder how the new position of the running boards and the front bumper will affect aftermarket fenders? I know the profile of the +2's now increase by probably 1 1/2" - 2". Maybe they are adjustable? Or like mentioned, the "bumperettes" are removable?
The size of the truck is so deceptive in pictures. Just by itself it can look so small, but add a person too the pic and the scale completly changes. I really need to find a show and check it out in person.
