If a V8 was an option, would you still go with the 3.5 EB?

If a V8 was an option, would you still go with the 3.5 EB?

  1. 3.5 EB

  2. V8 - TT 5.0, N/A 5.2, and the big dawg 6.2

  3. Speculating a V8 upgrade is like $10K, despite wanting it, rule it out from a cost standpoint

  4. Gremlins bro

Depends on hp and tq numbers along with price. If the v8 option was a huge price increase than no, the truck is already expensive and the upcoming 3.5 eb will probably be more than enough. Spend the difference on suspension and tuning instead.

I think the EB will be a decent motor. We will have some problems in the begging but it should be awesome with a intake, exhaust, and tune.

shit stirring bastard! Never too much power, so if coarse it would be the choice. The 3.5 is going to getting a rude awakening immediately fer shure.

I'd have to know the specs of each. I'd lean toward a V8 if the ecoboost intercooler prevents me from getting a hidden winch.

I'd go with whatever has more power. Since I now also own a "quick" car, driving my Raptor feels like somewhat of a chore at times. Ok, the Raptor is as fast or faster than it needs to be off-road. But on the road - where everyone spends 99% of their time no matter how much of an internet racer they claim to be - the Raptor is a dog. I'm sorry but it is. Quick for a 6000lb truck? Certainly. But the Kia Optima has more HP than the 6.2L Raptor. Just putting into perspective that 400 is the new 300 when it comes to HP. I just want to go fast.

Having said that, you can find me at www.kiaoptimaforumZ.com

p.s. since it's somewhat relevant... my car has a 2.0T 4 cylinder and makes 360HP / 332 lb-ft. Last I checked my dick didn't shrink because I have 4 - cyl. It also shows the amazing possibilities with boost. That's 180HP per Liter for anyone who's counting. The 2016 model of my car now has 375HP / 350 lb-ft with the same engine.

While I would normally agree with that opening statement :basketball:, I do think this is a valid discussion considering the chatter and speculation that a V8 may make its way into the truck.

I for one am all in immediately if they offer a V8 option. And my dick is as big as it needs to be!!!

I didn't buy a Raptor to say it was fast on the street, and I am rarely unable to go as fast as I want to in it. I probably put as many if not more miles on my Raptor than most owners, and can say that I am perfectly happy with its prowess. I have fallen in love with the Dirty Deeds exhaust teamed up with the 6.2L. I know some may say that is a lame excuse not to embrace the TTV6, but I already had one of those and love this engine SO MUCH MORE.

So, for arguments sake and in the spirit of this thread - V8 option for me? YUPPER!!!!!!

It would depend on the engine.

    TTV6 > NAV8
    TTV8 > TTV6

If there was an EB V8 option I would be all in, regardless of cost.

Let's ask if people would rather have an unobtanium V-8TT motor that weighs next to nothing and puts out 1,000HP.

Would you rather have the C7 Corvette with Camaro-like taillights or the traditional round Vette taillights?

Which weighs more 50lbs. of feathers or 50lbs. of bricks?

    Blondes or brunettes?

Here's a question no one wants to hear:

Would you rather have a Gen 1 with a heavy V8 that weighs at least 500lbs. more than the new Gen II with over 450HP and a better suspension and a 9-speed transmission with paddle shifters, etc., etc?

Would you rather have a modern high performance Gen II or an older lower performance Gen I?

The truth is the truth and if you don't want to deal with it then just wait till they're at the stores and on the street.

The truth will set you free if you open your eyes to it

PS: those against the V6TT need to check out what's going on in the rest of the automotive industry

They'll go nuclear but they'll do it in the privacy of their bedrooms so no one hears their cries. (It'll only get worse when they see the prices of Gen I Raptors plummeting).
