so I might open a wound and pour salt in it by asking this, but I am curious on this and might save us some headaches later in life.

Who here ordered in 2016 - and still does not have a build date? And/or their truck?

Just curious if preorder was just a massive waste since it appears(and I am guilty as charged) those of us who ordered in Jan/feb have build dates and should have new whips shortly.

I know all the early delay issues, but it seems like some are still hanging in the wind based upon responses in various posts.

    Hey Nexmeister
I informed my dealer in Jan. of '16 that I wanted a Raptor and if there was a list of potential customers, I wanted on that list. I was number 2 after a friend of the dealer. On Oct.17, I completed a preview order for a blue Scab with an 802 package. The only extras ordered were spray bed liner, tonneau cover and smoker's package. I was to pay MSRP and required to put $1000 down, nonrefundable and signed the paper. Never having bought a special order vehicle, I never thought to ask the dealer for a signature. The salesman informed me that they were to receive an allotment of 1 per month, so I knew it would be several months.
Being retired, I had lots of time to research. To keep my sanity, I'd go on Ford's build site and rebuild my truck at least once a week. I learned in late Jan. or Feb. that the number one buyer had his truck built. I also realized that MSRP had increased by $635 according to the build site. My dealer said I agreed to pay MSRP and I would pay the extra with no compensation of any kind in return. He also pointed out that the preview order was not an invoice. Yep,there it was in small print. Again my fault for trusting a gentleman's agreement. I called Ford and talked to Marketing. They said sometimes prices go up during the year to cover costs. If I was unhappy, talk to the dealer.
My truck was built March 30 and expected April 6-12. Today I learned from the build site that MSRP has risen by another 400+ dollars making the total increase $1040. I have a window sticker showing the first increase only.

Redtail, my order was placed on 1-16-17. I had the original order preview sheet emailed from my dealer with my build specs and a price. I put down a $1,000 non refundable deposit as well and the WAIT began. I got caught up in the BL/CF option commotion and on 1-28-17 I called the sales manager and told him to remove the BL option from my order sheet. I then asked him to email me the new buildsheet showing what my new balance was in writing
(The BL option removed, $3,000 ADM, the $195 DOC fee, and the $1,000 deposit I had put down). This sheet had numbers in writing but no signature, just the attachment from his(sales manager) email. I was informed by him after 2-12-17 that if ANY option from that day on was ADDED or REMOVED it would automatically cause a price increase of $600. I'm assuming due to FORD. I told him I'm not going to be changing anything on the truck so wasn't that concerned. I was called by the dealer this last Friday and given my VIN and was re-assured the original price we had agreed upon would be the balance I owed when I took delivery of the truck. I had their finance manager email myself and my loan officer the purchase agreement to finalize my loan paperwork. Low and behold as soon as I open up the attachment I see the final price has mysteriously raised by $1,075!!!!!! I called the finance manager and my salesman with the issue and was given the line "this is the paperwork we pulled from your file" and my response was "well I have an email from your sales manager with the buildsheet and agreed upon price and need a new purchase agreement emailed with the corrrect price". Their response was "you have an email from Vernon(sales manager)?!?!?! I didn't know he had sent you something, would you mind forwarding that email." My response(got em' by the balls at this point, snakes!!! "Why of course!!!!!!" I followed this with a phone call 15 minutes later to the finance manager and when I asked "just making sure you got my email" she followed with "we are just verifying everything and will have a new purchase agreement too you shortly". 10 minutes after that, viola, new agreement with correct price. Guys/girls it's imperative that you remain professional/calm from the very beginning of this process and be polite. They could have easily enforced the price change due to it being "Ford options and delivery fees" I feel without legal ramifications but I never got nasty and was lucky to have some sort of documentation.

When I learned that I would pay the extra $635 after agreeing to an earlier MSRP, I told my dealer I was not happy. I left the dealership pissed and said when the truck came in, I would make a decision. I called the next day and apologized for my attitude.

    Wait for it!!!!!!

At 8:45 AM today, I got a surprise call that the truck was delivered during the night. This was 3 days early and I had to hustle to clean out my truck. While doing the paperwork, the sales manager approached and said he would pay for the installation only of power running boards when/if I buy them. He said he knew I wasn't happy the other day and hoped this would keep me as a satisfied customer. I really appreciated this gesture and it was close to what I had requested earlier.

So I put 10 miles on the truck and love it. The only problem is we can't get my old flip phone to pair with Sync 3. No one at the dealer could pair it either. I might have to buy a new phone. I can't send any photos with my phone and I probably won't do any mods like so many others have done. Maybe I will get a wrap for the rocker panels, a short antenna and mud flaps when Husky makes them. I am happy with the Ford floor mats right now. The auto start/stop is a little tricky when trying to get used to the gas pedal.
The truck fits in the garage without any mods - it's a little tight getting between the wall and bumper. I am pleased I stuck with my choice of 14 months ago!

    Good luck with your truck.

Getting an f.....ing from my dealer, ordered Nov.3rd MSRP Preview order $1,000 deposit and was told 3-6 months so after 5 months and still no VIN and them telling me to relax that I'm next, I stopped by there today to see what's up, and my salesman tells me well you know these thing are bringing $5,000 over MSRP. So to make along story short I kept my cool and told him no way paying over MSRP that was the deal, trucks loaded and to expensive as it is, I'll wait for an 18 and buy from a different dealer. All this while he's texting his GM on vacation. I was in shock that they would fuck me like this. I'm a local business owner right down the road. My salesman is even a customer! They should of told me this months ago I could of bought many at MSRP in or around the Detroit area. If I had known I would have demanded a PA. I have been in various businesses for 45 years of my adult life and there is something about a gentlemen's agreement with a handshake that has merit. Maybe it's time for my attorney friend next door an play that card. To be continued.
