With the proposed increase in numbers of raptors that Ford will be building, have they instituted any type of core exchange for the oem shocks, once they hit 50k miles? Through personal experience with my 2013 daily driver, I was shocked that ford did not have some type of core exchange program available. Being that replacement shocks are somewhere around $3k, its an added expense that most folks are probably not aware of. And yes, I know that Fox can rebuild the shocks, but the turn around is 2-3 weeks, and not everyone has a car lift and also be without their daily driver for that timeframe.

It escapes me now, maybe m3dragon, and Crown is too but there's a guy doing an exchange on Gen1 shocks over at FRF1, and it seems to be a successful program.

Hmm, I show my ignorance. I knew nothing of this and have to figure out if I'll keep it that long now.

the rebuild doesn't cost much and that's a beautiful thing about these shocks right? Cause who the hell wants to spend 3k on frigging shock replacements??

OK, but how many places rebuild them? Not a fan of leaving my truck in pieces for 2-3 weeks.

that's the idea behind the exchange- so you aren't down for an extended period. There will undoubtedly be at least a couple of folks doing it for the 3.0's

We are very busy with rebuilding the Gen 1 shocks, It is recommended that for optimal performance the shocks be rebuilt every 30-35k miles and 40k if 100% on road use . Fox right now is at 4-6 weeks maybe even 8 weeks at the moment . They are very far behind and have not been able to catch up for awhile . The problem with some exchange programs is that , you do not get your shocks back . You could receive a set that were not in the same shape or condition as the ones you removed . We rebuild them here in house (Las Vegas, NV ) and we have been rebuilding shocks for more then 20 years. If you ship them to us from the time we receive them until the time they are sent back is 24-36 hours . If you bring us the truck you drop off one day and pick up the next . Sometimes depending on whats already on the board same day service . If you do any kind of off-roading on the weekends, long trail runs or push the truck hard on short runs your rebuild times will drop drastically . Warranty will not cover shocks, only if they show signs of leaking in the 36/36 bumper to bumper . We have heard of a few people getting shocks covered under the Ford platinum ESP but it is very very rare . You can have all of you shocks complete deep cleaned rebuilt to factory specs with factory OEM parts for less then the price of 1 new one . And plus , who doesn't need an excuse to visit Vegas ? =)

Fox does not have kits for the new 3.0 shocks and per fox they have a 2 year warranty.

Once the kits are available we will look into a exchange program for the 3.0s. DIY is the same for them as a side note.
