I went through Autonation. They tried to hit me up for $10K over at the dealer. After a little back and forth they came down to $5K over. I said thanks, and if they drop if let me know and I will come back and order the truck.

As I was walking out the guy asked if I had my check book with me. I said yes. He said "If I drop the $5k are we good?". That's all it took. Placed the order and waiting for a build date. I stick with this dealer because they usually give me on the high side on all trade in vehicles.

Good for you if it works out but I second sapper's advice on this one. Have them sign something, even if you just draft up a very simple purchase agreement yourself. If they won't sign don't waste any more time waiting on that truck.
